Dil ki patni, pati (Lover, Mistress)/ Kanooni patni, pati (husband)

It is not a question of moving on, if one has to move on give clean break to previous relationships, do not 2 time and be infidel.

What is this new nonsense about legal husband, dil ka husband... Yaar...husband to ek hi hota hai...yeh Dil aur Kanooni husband kya hai?
I am lost.. Does it mean that if your are married you are free to have affairs with anyone, jab jis pe dil aaye? Are we animals...Is this serial preaching a free society and open marriages? tell us clearly and we will be mentally prepared... Open marriages too are a norm..This seems to be another extreme of talibanisation of society.

With Kartik-Nandini relationship they did the same... It was Kartik who took the name of her during a dinner during the Karan episodes.. He used her whenever needed and discarded her whenever needed..And then made her evil to suit them for TRPs and create drama.

No meaning of marriage...Shaadi karo Nandini se..however bad/evil she was.. Why was the character of kartik made to marry Nandini knowing she was Evil.. and who made her evil? this relation was built with everyone's eyes open...And once she did...why did he continue his affair with Suman...Or Suman with him under the same roof...They could have been more stricter in their behaviours..Why was not Kartik-Nandini sent to marriage councellors to sort out their marital issues... Or treat Nandini with a Pshychiatrist, if she was getting negative thoughts...

With Karan-Suman they are doing the same..Legally Suman is married to Karan since he is back from the dead. Yet Suman is made to 2 time Karan and Kartik both.. She has to make clear that Karan is her husband until she divorces him..Dil ka pati kuch nahi hota... woh mistress kehlati hai....patni nahi...She is not even trying to forget Kartik her lover and try with Karan when she knows she is still married that is infidelity..If she cant and then she divorces Karan, she can go with her dil ki pati..That is how moving on in relationships should happen.

Shaadi aur Rishton ko mazaak bana ke rakh diya hain in serial walon ne..Dil ka pati(kartik), legal pati(Karan), fake pati(PD), hone walah pati(Tanmay)..
Have beautiful sets and jewellery and mehendi laga ke rakhna songs...Rest TRPs pe chor do... Jodi achi lage to rakh do, nahi to tod do...
But then the new dialogue fad here seems to be "halat, majboori, do raah"
New fad also seems to be divorce...No one even told them "galti ho jati hai...ek aur baar ek saath rehne ki koshish karo, seek help..."

First they showed Widow torture, we are yet to see justice to that issue... The family has been let off to easily.... Then infidelity of Kartik...dil ki patni ke saath.. Now, lost husband comes from the dead..and then again 2 timing starts of Suman... Now with 2 brothers...

Such themes had been made in fictional storylines earlier, but with sensitivity... .Love childs, Mistress sagas, presumed dead husbands back...etc..If you take a bold theme, give it an adult treatment..

But then people dont have patience these days to build relationships, and these serials perhaps are a reflection of the new morality..
Character sketch of Karan is poor and he is used as a pawn in this whole saga. he was used, made to die, his wife made to suffer and then make her fall in love with someone else.. Then bring him back because perhaps TRPs are falling...Kartik, Tanmay cannot save the serial....and use him and throw him.. just like they did to the character of Nandini... If things dont go well.... Well.. send them to death, make them Evil and negative...

What does the Character Karan mean to the Creatives of this Show.
What does the Character Kartik mean to the Creatives of this Show.
What does the Character Suman mean to the Creatives of this Show.
What does the Character Nandini mean to the Creatives of this Show.
What morality are they showing in this Show?
Have these serial wallahs made a mockery of relationships living under the same roof...Sort this whole stuff..Rishton ka pench....
Does Fidelity have no meaning to the Serial Makers...Please give a deep thought to this issue...

Just to show Kartik-Suman love story.... do not send wrong messages..

They should have ended with the Kartik-Suman marriage if they wanted that, why resurrect Karan from the dead?

PS:
I feel, TV channels should go for seasons and have clearcut stories, in each series of episodes each season..In this never-ending sagas, no one has control...and fatigue creeps in the viewers as well as makers..with too many twists and in those twists we get lost...and emotions are being played with,, These never-ending sagas started with the series years back like Buniyaad etc...but they too had good story lines.. there were short series also like Trishna etc adaptation from "Pride and prejudice", those were interesting stuff.

This crap of shaadi waadi with no message.. this trend started with Ekta Kapoor during the last decade.

But perhaps TV serial makers have to reinvent themselves now..

Else its torture to watch them these days...

😳 chillaxx guy... none of us takes these shows that seriously...
and remember one thing... Love is above everything... if there is no love, there is no trust, and if there is no trust.. there is no relationship.. no matter how much one tries to compromise.
and Love comes with patience and humility and devotion.
and trust me my friend... you are cursing these tv shows for manipulating with the traditions of marriage and community... but thesedays... the reality of many people's life out there is even more ugly...
kaun kiska pati hai.. kuan kiska beta... kaun saas apne damad ke saath hai... and you know what this world hides in its nooks and crooks.. so chillax... these shows are only the tip of the ice-berg...

These are escapist fares which are meant to entertain everyone agrees.
But while entertaining as a work of fiction it should not lose its track. There are ugly realities out there, but that does not mean escapist fares loses its track..Storytelling can be in many forms. Complex themes are made...a Masoom is made on man-woman and child, and so does an Arth. The treatment has to be good..
For example: 3 Idiots is also a tale of morality and yet entertaining... The theme is an ugly reality out there too, but the treatment made sense had logic in it, though escapist and had loopholes..The key issue was dealt with..
Writers have to spend more time in character development and scenes...and the purpose of the serial...
This is the first hindi serial i am watching after many many years, and it mighty dissapoints...There is no change in techniques in the past 10 years...
As an audience since I am giving 30 minutes of my time and in my view, I expect some quality.
If we audiences dont demand good storyline and ignore them in the name of fiction....it will be another decade before we get meaningful entertainment...
Indian films are evolving pretty well, but TV soap operas/novellas are yet to..going by the example of this serial.

You forget this is not a 2 or 3 hour movie.. this a television show that goes on for months and possibly years... these ppl are not Movie script writers.. they are television show writers... their job is to keep the show going for the scheduled contract of time period.. unlike a movie where everything is decided and then the movie is shot... here they have to keep up with the broadcasting.. keep the next events in the story ready... they cant wait for maybe two or three years to perfectly decide their script... and then shoot the next episode... these ppl begin with a concept but along the way... many things change in their storyline... so yeah... i know its stupid... what can we do, except starting making the shows ourselves... i am sure you dont have enough money to produce one... and no producer would invest in our stories lol... they might you could give it a try...
and these are cheap regular shows... there are better shows, that focus more on consistency of their story and characters, and their theme are much more critical in terms of society and community... but we cant expect that from these ppl... and you know it... i just think its useless to complain about them... just keep in mind your initial attraction to the show... and watch it for its sake...
this isnt the first hindi show with such inconsistencies, unreasonable tracks, and crappy storyline... thats because there are soooooo many of these shows out there we cant possibily decide to watch them all... we watch a few... but there are faults in them all... so let it be... just watch it as a time pass... and entertainment...
there are better shows out there that do not just entertain but also feed out intelligence and that are also thought provoking... so if you like those then watch those... but its really useless to complain.. because no matter how much we kill our backs sitting at the computer typing these painfully long comments... it isnt going to change is it?? these stupid ppl will keep making these shows.... and we are stupid enough to watch them... šŸ˜†
dont mind me.. i am just saying that we should just enjoy it for what it is...

I agree with the 'new morality', lack of time to essay characters and a tendency to please the aam janata through TRPs. Palkon is spot on in these areas.

But I am certainly happy for such forums which create debate, retrospection and understanding the youth of today. Perhaps the TV directors are no different, and are a tad clueless as to how to balance tradition and the new norms that the youth is boldly setting. It's hard, look at it from their point of view.

I appreciate that this serial has shown many traditional rituals and yes, all these rasams do make life worth living,. But along with these rasams, the underbelly of widow treatment and legal/social/emotional marriages is also being portrayed. Not very sensitively portrayed though- and certainly no follow-through.

I would like to mention one thing, here: for a guy for whom a mere photo of his wife in widow's clothing tortured Karan, he seems to have dropped the topic quite conveniently, never questioning his mother, dadaji and the rest. Now that's INCONSISTENCY of the story line, wouldn't you think?

Maang mein sindoor
has no meaning or very little meaning in this serial- especially when the paper work does not follow suit. They dont seem to tackle problems on a priority basis or drop problems rather conveniently to keep the TRP balance.

Inconsistency, wouldnt u think?

But love plays on people's emotions very strongly which is why this story line is being accepted by most.

Perhaps the Indian psyche is undergoing a metamorphosis of sorts- with some remorse, some glee, some rebellion.

But yes, there have been far too many marriages in this serial and being a TV serial and not a movie does not justify this at all. Guys, either be bold in treating the theme or stick to tradition- or get the right balance! ( Maybe scriptwriters will improve with time.)

After all, can a love story not grow without a marriage break every now and then?😳

@yllscin Understood..seems like a complex model of working.....and chaos all around....and it shows.. quite a stressful job for the Cvs to churn out stories on a daily basis. I have full sympathy for them..
However, i think they can try to experiment with the seasons concept in a small way to see how it works...Foriegn serials work pretty well..
Moral of the story, if this is not the place one should be in..one better quit...and move on to other stuff 😊

This show is such a crap they r misguiding people who watch this show. Suman ko Dil ki Pati aur kanooni pati pehle karan thi par ab kanoon ki pati karan aur dil ki pati karthik ye kya bakwaas hai. This show is said to be about customs, relationships and culture and this is what the culture in the serial. They show is about breaking relationships.they only bought back karan only becaz they wanted the TRP which neither karthik or suman cannot do y they r making hi a joker in the show. This show is worst than ekta show. No wife will leave her 1st husban and go to 2d husband and say that now this is my husband. ye loko shaadi ek mazzak maanthi hai. Like a kids game. Becaz of karthik nandu became negative he made her like that.
They r runing their own show. Ye lok riston ki amanat nahi samajthe.

I know what you mean... but this is partially because of the Indian public... most ppl cant understand the abstract concepts that foreign shows try to portray... some ppl of india are too tied up in the traditional bhartiya way and relationships and what not... where as the new generation are breaking free of old ways and embracing the wester values... what can we do... there is a clash of traditions and culture... and in such a setting... what can we do...šŸ˜†
this is one reason why despite such development and advancment in india... our television and movie industry represent quiet a different set of values and principles and concepts than those of hollywood...
thats one reason why high-5 actions movies made in india dont often break the box office records.. ppl in india have different mind sets... and if you ask me... our entertainment systems have nothing but corrupted in attempts to be more like the westerners... i mean compare the movies made 40 or 50 years ago to movies made now... vast difference... there is no sense of culture or values in movies made nowdays... btu we cant do much about it... šŸ˜†
back then we had great talents such as Sadhana, Waheda Rehman... Amitab.. and there soooooo many more better and more talented actors we have had... Mehmood... even in the music industry... Kishore da... RD Burman, Mukesh, Mohammad Rafi... and what not...
back then it was all about talent and creativity... now its all about money... whatever makes money it works... such as skinny heroines even thought they cant act.... hot and muscular heros even though they cant act... and because these heroines have nothing but their bodies to show... stripp of their cloths... the publics likes that... it works... the public has changed... and so that the industry... šŸ˜† in television... show saas bahu's fights... family problems... the wife of the younger brother falliing in love witht he older brothers... they show this ppl watch it... and like it... there are some who have a higher taste but what can they do... what can we do when there is no creativity to be found...
we simply try to enjoy those things we like... and those we dont... we just shut our brains and watch it anyway...
