Today was the Your Idol Theme. We as an India Forums Family would like to share our Idol too.

Who is your Idol and why? Please give details and share some links of your favorite music of your idol.

My Idol is Lata Mangeshkar. I can never get tired of listening to her music regardless of which decade they are from.

Lata has the most beautiful voice in the world, like a nightingale. She's an inspiration to most of the female singers. Her romantic songs r still very popular amongst lovers. I love Lata Mangeshkar's voice.

My idol is Sunidhi Chauhan
I just love her voice.. i have been listening to all of her songs and she really inspired me.. how she started singing and made her career in such a young age.. shes just amazing..

My IDOL is my PAPA.. 😳 And he isn't into music industry.. 😛

I have loads of musical Idols actually, so I'll go through them in alphabetical order. I hope that's fine :)

So we have 'A' for Abida Parveen:

Her voice and singing is spiritual and can actually put the listener into a trance. She has a mastery over sur, no doubt about that. But she knows how to sing lyrics - that is something that all singers can learn from her. She knows how to explain the deepest meanings of a sher through vocal music.

The one and only sufi queen

I don't really have one but if I were to mention someone I look up to it has to be my elder brother. Not because he is my brother but because he is such a nice person always so patient, and loving and forgiving .. He's a good son, good brother, good student and a very good person. I wish I was more like him. My brother keeps me sane and I love him very much. So, he is the closest thing to an idol in my life.

From famous people,Justin Furstenfeld who is the frontman/singer/song writer from American
alternateive rock band 'Blue October'- has helped me alot through his voice and words. Their mUsic Is almost therapeutic for me. Although not everyone's cup of tea, once you get into them, only they exist. His music has seen me through difficult times.

My second favorite song after "Yeh Haseen Wadiyaan" is "Kehna Hi Kya" from Bombay .. 😃
