Round 3: Mahalaxmi Iyer

Note:

The complaint with Mahalaxmi in the 1st 2 rounds was that she didn't sing much in her songs. Which is true. But this round, she has a solo, where she does all the singing!

Good singing by Mahalaxmi overall!


The song wasn't really that difficult, nonethless, she had good voice quality throughout. She has great voice quality overall as well, I think she has one of the most purest voices. Don't ask what is that supposed to mean.

She was good throughout, from the slow, to the parts that required more energy. Though I think she could've put more feel on the main lines. since it was a patriotic song. Besides for that, there were many other parts where she was impressive. But once again, not that difficult of a song really eihter.

One of my personal favorite songs of all time. Mahalaxmi ji sung this song so well. I loved the pick up of the song. She started it with the right feel and tone. I found there were quite a few variations in the song. What I liked most about the song was that it transitioned from very slow to very fast, and Mahalaxmi ji kept up with the speed of the song. She sung it with so much ease. Yes the level of difficulty for this sung wasn't extremely high but nonetheless it wasn't an easy song to sing. I really enjoyed her singing. Thought it was well done. Yes she also could have put more emphasis on certain parts in the song. But overall I enjoyed the singing.

Lovely feel good song ...rendered wonderfully by Mahalaxmi Iyer...I love how her voice never sounds shril at higher notes ...very soothing ...Her melodious voice with little touches here and there makes her simple song a listening pleasure too...

Hhhhmmmm..

Its a fun track. From the very start I felt that the throw could have been improved, its faint, which makes the lyrics not clear. The expressions are reasonably well, could have been more passionate. Even in the romantic lines, I have not been able to connect with the singer. The singing is done well, however, Mahalaxmi's voice's magical quality has been unable to come on the surface in this song. I have heard way better songs from her. This song has not been able to impress me. It does not show the versatility of the singer, neither it creates a reasonable impact on the listener.

So, my evaluation for this performance will be a 7 mark out of 10.
