Swaroop Khan Appreciation Thread!

19-years old Swaroop belongs to the Langa family in Jodhpur. The only profession of the people of this and neighbouring village is singing. Likewise, Swaroop's parents too are deeply associated with singing.

Swaroop learnt singing from his parents and even plays Khadtal and Morchang. He has performed at many stage shows in both India and abroad. He also won the best actor award for Milk and Opium. He has also featured in the Bournvita ad where the kids are seen dancing on his singing.

Swaroop is confident to win Indian Idol as he feels he has an exceptional voice which represents and blends perfectly his style and tradition.

I understand he is a Folk singer, but his voice is beautiful. I love the fact he is such powerful throw when he is singing. I hope he wont disappoint us as the competition progresses - keeping fingers crossed!!

i dont think i can forget how he performed in the theatre round. he didnt know the song. couldnt remember the lyrics. but his impromptu jugalbandi was awesome!

Singing is in his genes and he has proven that in the earlier round. Like they say Music does not need words or language . He is someone who really has stepped out of his comfort zone. He has not heard bollywood and to sing the way he did on the track marvelous. Can;t wait to hear more from him

People are usually stereo typing him. I think he is doing great. If he gets a bit of guidence he can sing any song with a much greater ease than any of the contestants. As said yesterday, he was the one who was away from his comfort zone yet he was amazing. I think he would do wonders if he stays. We should not prejudge him without giving him an oppotunity to perform.
