...to the degradation of the quality of CID. Since the majority of the audience loves watching the typical soaps, Sony may have been putting pressure on CID to focus more on pleasing the audience by bringing in humor(read: lame humor) and focusing more on going in depth into the anatomy of the human body(read: disgusting🤢)otherwise it will discontinue it, since it's life span is much longer than the average Indian serial, especially crime shows. So, Fireworks has been reluctantly been forced to do all this, unfortunately, and the results are evident. CID is the top TRP-gainer for Sony,as it appeals to the pathos of the young and old alike, especially who aren't much aware of the criminal investigations or the forensics procedures. But the quality has gone down considerably in the last 4 years(come on, let's be honest) because of all this pressure by greedy Sony. I think we should write a letter to Sony about this.
But before that, do you guys think, I'm right?

But that is not related to this....this is just about how Sony is pressurizing the show to do well else it'll cut the life support.

Can't Fireworks just get a deal with another channel if Sony decides to pull the plug? I mean, there would surely be many channels which would be only too happy to take such a popular and famous show under their wing. Unless there are some serious contractual obligations I'm not aware of, I don't think there's any need for the producers to be under constant pressure by Sony, if that is the case.

As I said, because of the explosion of soaps everywhere, I don't think that any other show would be willing to take CID under it's wing. If you notice in the past 5-10 years, soaps have been overwhelmingly overshadowing crime shows. Many crimes shows in channels like Sahara One, Zee etc, were discontinued becasue of low TRP's. Anyways, I don't think that such channels will accept CID because they are more soap-oriented.

I am in more agreement with @Brosder's views. I don't see why Fireworks (FW)have to give into the pressure if that is any. I mean it's not like only FW needs SONY, SONY also needs CID, they have together create history, running a successful show for 12 years and more and people still not getting enough of it, is no joke. If FW can't lose SONY, even SONY would not want to lose CID. So FW and SONY must have a relationship of equals, they both need each other. So I don't understand why FW needs to give in all the time to stupid suggestions from the channel.

We don't know what sort of contract they have signed, you know. There might be clauses like 'CID is a band name given to a programme on Sony. No other channel will be allowed to air a program with that name. Fireworks shall not show a programme with the name CID on any other channel' etc etc.

Thats OK, I am not saying FW should move away from SONY. What I am saying is that just like FW would not like to lose SONY, SONY also would not like to lose CID. The truth is that they have together made it a success. Its just that I don't see why FW needs to give in to stupid suggestions.
