Let me convey my point in a more simpler manner,
First of all, in OFFICES or COMPANIES a job can be performed by a male or female. It doesn't matter who is selected because the job can be done equally well.
BUT, in the music industry, a MALE SINGER cannot sing the part of a FEMALE SINGER, so, equal quantities of both genders are required in the industry, which unfortunately is not the case. There are very few female singers in the industry, and already a handful number of male singers with quite evident variations of voices among them.
Even if these MALE contestants of a reality show reach the point of fame, SINGING in a bollywood movie will be difficult to get. Obviously, because there are already a variety of MALE singers available in the industry.
On the contrary, Female singers are rare species in the industry, they need more varied voices. So, it is quite necessary that AT LEAST equal amount of seats are available to the girls.
And, also I again repeat my earlier statement that the girls left behind were definitely not average, rather they were really awesome singers out there. They could be utilized. This is not about gender discrimination! it is about what the requirement in the practical world is.
Anyways, since we cannot change this reality that now almost double the amount, boys are present. We can hope that the 'veto power' of the judges will enable the good and talented contestants to achieve a good position in this competition.
That is purely my opinion. Others can disagree. Thanks.
