It was a few years ago, I was at the mall with my mom. We were walking around when we saw a woman with her child. The child was on a leash. Yeah the leash that wraps around the chest of a child. She went by a bench next to us, and told her child 'come'. She pointed to the bench and said 'sit'. Then said 'stay' sternly as she proceeded to sit down and shuffle through her day's shopping.

'That's awesome' I told my mom. 'I think I finally know what every mom would love: A choke chain and a heeling stick'. My mom being a mom rolled her eyes. But I convinced myself that deep down inside every mother dreams of having a very well trained child on a leash. And secretly, you know you all want that.

But then thats the amazing things about moms. How they can unconditionally love untamed, untrained, hooligans running about, unleashing hell on earth and growing up to be evil dark lords. And no matter what they keep loving. As everyone knows that I'm not into colorful extravaganza and magical things, but I think thats perhaps my mom loves best about me. She always loved a good book, and I love books and words too.

So heres to my mom, and all the amazing moms out there.

Special shout outs to G-Unit, I hope my Doppleganger is as awesome as I am and so is the little one and they make your day special. But I also hope jeeju punishes you for slacking and delays mothers day till you show results, I would. 😛 Also to my Varsha ma, who is another amazing mother who has virtually adopted this train wreck. Maa-ji, shaadi ki baat chedi aapne? Kab hogi hamari bidaai? Dulhe ko hamara triple pack manzoor hain? 😉😆 And of course love to my saasu ma too, she raised one heck of a daughter, the bestest gal out there.

Love to all mommies. 🤗

When i came home in the rain,
Brother asked: why didn't you
take an umbrella?
sister scolded: why couldn't you
wait till the rain stopped?
Father said angrily: Only after
catching a cold , you will realise.
But mother , while drying my hair ,
said : stupid rain, couldn't it wait
till my child came home?
That is MOM !

^^ Geez, no doubt I feel drained at times! Angie, after reading your post, I realized I am a sister, brother, father and mother all combined in one😆 Throw a friend in that mix too.

@ Sarina --- I kiss, hug, scold, scare, discipline, pamper, guide........my children. I often find myself scolding and loving them simultaneously. I am sure most mothers are like this. Hence, no matter how much I disapprove putting children on a leash in public ( yes, I have leashed them to the dinner table in the kitchen while cooking when they started crawling and getting behind me without a squeak and ended up getting stepped over and bawling and.....sigh), I will not judge her parenting like some here would😆.

Rest later. Happy Mother's Day to you all!

P.S. Karan, Cloddy, Gengu, debu, POH, Sneha and ajnu - be nice to your moms tomorrow and make sure you pamper them. Y'all are awesome kids. Your moms did a great job raising y'all😊 Give them one big hug from my side too.

Happy mothers day to my mom, the moms out here and everyone's mom 😃

i will just say the most quoted line.."god cannot be with everyone of us so he sent us mothers "

remember to love your moms not only today but each and everyday as she also put in tons of love and care for us...behind every word, no matter how much she scold, gets angry, it's all out of love and i am sure somewhere down she always feel bad doing this...

if any of you out there are not in good terms with her just try to think this way ... and go give her the love she deserves....

she loves unconditionally and never ask for anything in return but at times she might also wanna feel loved... 😛

i love you mom!! 🤗

Happy mothers day!!!

My mom made french toast for me today :P and I love her as much as Idid when I was young, nothing has changed. My mom is probably my best friend in the world whom I can always count on and trust. Yes, gauri I gave her a big hug.

I remember she once had a ear problem and she didnt open the door when i rang, and I was shit scared. I was in my granma's house worrying like hell. Turns out she was asleep. She went to the hospital later and got it fixed. The doc said if she took longer to come the condition would be worsened :( thank god she became better.

Love u mom!

Haathon ki lakeerein badal jaayengi
Ghum ki yeh zanjeerein pighal jaayengi
Ho Khuda pe bhi asar, tu duaon ka hai ghar
... meri maa

I love my mom so much! I would not be the person that I am today if it weren't for her. Some days I wonder why God has blessed me with such a great mother. Here's wishing all the wonderful mothers all over the world a very, very happy mother's day! I hope that all of us will, on this day, remember to appreciate our moms, to thank them, and to shower our love upon them as she has done for us throughout the years.

Gauri di and Varsha di- here's wishing you both a very, very happy mother's day. I hope your kids make this day very, very special for you both because you both deserve it very much. You both have played the role of mother, sister, and friend to me throughout the years in this virtual world - I love you both so much! 🤗🤗

Sarina- a very happy mother's day to your mom as well. I'm sure she considers herself very lucky to have a daughter as special as you. :)

Some funny quotes I came across ... 😆

"Mothers of teenagers know why animals eat their young." ~ Author Unknown

"I want my children to have all the things I couldn't afford. Then I want to move in with them." ~ Phyllis Diller

"There is only one pretty child in the world, and every mother has it." ~ Chinese Proverb

"The most remarkable thing about my mother is that for thirty years she served the family nothing but leftovers. The original meal has never been found." ~ Calvin Trillin

"My mother's menu consisted of two choices: Take it or leave it." ~ Buddy Hackett

For moms with nalayak betas .... 😆

"It takes a woman twenty years to make a man of her son, and another woman twenty minutes to make a fool of him." ~ Helen Rowland

Not so funny but beautiful nonetheless ...

"A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie." ~ Tenneva Jordan

"You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around - and why his parents will always wave back." ~William D. Tammeus.
