Round 2: K.S. Chithra

An 8...most of the notes were perfect, but I just felt that she was wavered a bit during the "yaa rabba shukriya..jisse chaha woh mil gaya" . Just my opinion 😃

Will give her a 10... I have no choice..

Great singing once again by K.S. Chithra. She proved in this song that she still can sing great despite being one of the top 2 or 3 oldest in this contest.

Her voice quality is still great. Her singing is still great. Though I will say it's a little down from her prime, nonetheless, it's still great. And her voice control is still amazing. I don't think I've heard anyone with as great of voice control as her. Simply amazing. The only one I've ever heard with as greater voice control than Chithraji.

A very difficult portion in the song,

Eh Rab Shukriya, Tera Shukriya, Jise Chaaha Woh Mil Gaya, Jise Doondha Woh Mil Gaya

She sang I think really well. I think she could've done it a little better in her prime, though it was still great. Furthermore, this is a good example of her great voice control even at high pitches. 👏

And then her whole post-main sequence was also well done

Overall, I think her voice quality and ability had fallen just a little from her prime. But the singing displayed here is still very good. It was a difficult song, which she sang well, and deserves a high score. I want to give this an 8.5, so I'm stuck. I would usually just give this a 9, but since I gave Shreya a 9, I'll give one an 8. In her prime though, it would be a 9 or 10.

Wow! I've never heard this song before. She sounds quite different in this song (in a positive way). I honestly didn't like the beginning of the song. I thought so much more could have been done there to make it better. However her singing was so soulful throughout the whole song. I thought after the beginning the difficulty level of this song increased. And Chitra ji did a very good job of controlling her voice. She had fabulous voice control. For the most part she had the feel in her voice. But I thought that in some parts the feeling of the song was lacking a bit. She did a fabulous job of knowing where to stretch her voice and when not to. Oh and I must add Sukhwinder ji did a fabulous job accompanying her. Overall Chitra ji did an amazing job, but fell a bit short to get a high enough score from me.

Final rating taking everything in consideration: 6.5 rounded to a 7.

Mee too am hearing this for the first time, yet another genius track from the maestro and superb singing by both Sukhwinder and Chitra. Compared to the previous track, her voice is completely transformed and sounds very melodious and matured, especially since the scale is one below the usual she sings.
Small harkats and superb voice modulation takes her singing to new highs in this track. And of course, Sukhwinder too sounds to good and compliments her brilliantly.
9/10.

Haven't heard this song before..Hhhmmmmm…

The starting is a bit unusual and strange. However, the voice quality is beautiful. The singer shrieks in parts here. There is mumbling seen in case of few words, pronunciation is not clear. I must comment, Sukhwinder did a fairly good job here.

There is not much variation in the singing. One particular difficulty is to keep the singing in leah, which is done nicely. However, this fast speed compromises on the throw of the voice, which weakens the impact of the voice. On the other hand, the male singer creates a more subtle impact because of a tremendous throw. Never-the-less the voice of Chitra, is a soothing one, not much problem with the pitch. Expressions are somewhere in the middle, not too good and not too bad.

So, for this performance which is definitely above average, my score sums up to be 7 out of 10.

Amazing singing. Dint njoy d song very much tho 9 (never followd risingabove's scoring rules😉)
