Hi everyone,

I've never posted here before and I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question but a friend of mine just had a cute little baby girl. And she's been asking me what they should name her. I'm totally confused. They would like an Indian name but one that can be pronounced by foreigners. Any suggestions?

here are some names i like ( with the meanings) that i think are not hard to pronounce.

Alisha: (the meaning for the Indian Origin) Protected by God

Arya: Noble; great, truthful

Hetal: Warm-Hearted

Mahiya: Joyousness

Malika: Queen

Mili: To Meet

Riya: Singer

Saha: Enduring;mighty

Suri: Princess

I hope you like these names. I'm sure whatever name your friend chooses will be a nice and cute name for her daughter.

Thanks everyone! I loved the names! I suggested all the names you guys said - (Diyva, Geet, Roshni, Alisha and Chahat were my fav) and lots of others. And I really love the name "Avantika" so I suggested that too! Unfortunately, she didn't pick any of my names...But she's named her daughter Anushka which is lovely too. Thanks for all the help!
