the main reason why TV did not or does not appeal to a lot of women of this generation was, the manner in which women characters were portrayed.
women of this day and age, just do not indentify with the these characters....sati savitri aur devi..is an understatement!!
A prime example was the K shows which became a butt of a millions jokes...in the midst of this nirupa roy style women...DMG became the first youth based show...it created a stir...tons of articles came out...a newspaper like Times of India was prompted to call it A PIONEER , BENCHMARK FOR THE YOUNG VIEWERS OF TODAY...and the main reason....ridhima..
Yes, and not armaan's character..why..well guyz that make u fall in love with them are and were nothing new..( its just the way KSG acts makes armaan sooo unique..and i dont think he is GOD...so puhlease...)
ridhima..was today's girl...she was well educated...smart..professionally well respected and at the top of her chosen field, a woman with a heart and a mind...she was friends with guyz..casually as we all are...no big deal...atul would qualify as one of her best buddies😊...wont think twice before going out with a guy for his birthday...but like us knew her limits....she gave as good as she got...armaan never got away with a prank unanswered....she gave him a run for his money...
one of the best...she actually made him run and hide in the hospital with a sheet wrapped around him.😆..yes..when we look back this lady had spunk and spirit....
even in love, she was no fool, she did not hesitate in telling him off when she felt he was wrong..she was an equal.....she simply made me and a thousands of other women watch her because she was the best representation of women on indian TV..
she was soo not the typical ekta show woman then...and thats why we girls loved her...
The ridhima today....nothing to say about her..this lady is not the one we loved and admired..our ridhima would not have been sid's wife...not because of armaan...but becoz she would not be forced into it...she had a mind and heart of her own...our ridhima would not go through an instant personality change and amnesia after taking saat pheras...and the ridhima we know..whould have thrown the shoe in Sid's face..if asked what was asked of her.....husband or not....
DMG started a trend we loved...they portrayed women as real as they came.....today the protrayal of this lead character is just like the other shows on TV....
Just regret that marketability and business sense has again won and reality takes a back seat...sorry Ridhima in the end you had to join the same band wagon of women on TV...we lost you...u are mouthing the same worlds now that a ton of lady characters have and are mouthing on each show....sorry !!
