Love....., this term is getting new definitions, new shades, meanings and contortions every day.
For the generation X this is the most loved yet most abused concept. Love aaj kal means a lot of things, dating, going around, having fun, alongwith terms like giving space to each other, living ur own life and dont interfere in your partners, free world, etc. etc.
And the most important ingredient of today's world, if things dont work out, dont waste your tears on it, hey MOVE ON, start afresh, wipe your slate clean and forget the rest...as if love is yesterday's stale menu in a closing down restaurant.
Changing partners is a trend and sadly it does not signify lack of loyalty or incapability of facing and fighting circumstances for love, but nowadays it is given the realist and practical sheen of everything changes in this world, what is love??
So love is now transient and temporary...if it works out fine, if it doesn't, why fret yaar..plenty more fish still left in the ocean..go fish ...get a new one..are we talking about shoes, clothes from a store..nope we are talking about love!!
Is it that easy to forget love, is it that simple to move on with another partner....how can you forget two and a half years of an intense passionate relationshp...... a friend who stood by you when you lost your first patient? How can you forget the man who wiped your tears when you found out that you were adopted? How do you forget the colleague who fought with you shoulder to shoulder in saving people's life whether in the middle of a village or a stuck elevator? How do you let go of a man who saved your honour, not once but twice? How does the man who got your parents married not matter ? How can the man who held your hand when you were about to be blown to pieces with a bomb be a thing of the past? The man who went on a hunger strike for you and faced bullets for you, he deserves to be discarded like a used tissue paper ?
The man who was your love, actually your whole life, world, your morning, noon and night, your dream, your ever waking thought, your every night's good night and every morning's good morning, your dream, your ambition, your reason to smile and laugh and exist, the man for whom you fought with your family, friends and the whole world, the man with whom you exchanged plans and hope of a future in the form of engagement rings...the man for whom you took bullets and were ready to die....according to todays world...is easily forgotten.
So go ahead Ridhima, today's world is telling you, forget him, forsake him, desert him...leave him all alone to face the ghosts of the memories and promises you both made...never mind Armaan, let him be...he will find some else to die for and live for and if he is not like you...if he is faithful and good...then he is a fool let him suffer....
And ironically the reason for this desertion and betrayal is a word which means commitment of the deepest kind...marriage...actually a mockery of marriage...a joke of everything that is sacred in a wedding..a bond which has nothing in it..love, friendship, trust, respect...but this world still calls it a bond...and what you shared with Armaan for such a long time....it is nothing...zero.
All true love stories are tragedies...so Armaan and Ridhima's is the truest of true...so it has to end this way...in today's world true love just cannot survive.
So friends the moral of the story...if things dont work out..dont fight for your love...dont stay faithful to it...dont cry over it...you owe nothing...just leave the man in the lurch....just MOVE ON...find another...and another...and another.....
