Ever since her Bollywood debut in Boom , gorgeous Katrina Kaif has come a long way.
Shy and reticent by nature, Katrina has kept a remarkably low profile in tinsel town even after the good run of some of the movies she has starred in.
Despite her ethereal beauty, Katrina was seldom considered for leading roles in films because of her lack of linguistic command over Hindi. But since last year, equations have changed considerably for this half Indian-half British beauty with the success of Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya and Sarkar .
Today, Katrina has a good number of meaty projects in her kitty.
On the anvil for release is Raj Kanwar's Humko Deewana Kar Gaye that has Katrina pairing with Akshay Kumar for the first time.
She also has a David Dhawan comedy called Partner with Govinda and Salman Khan , but the fate of that film seems uncertain for the time being because of Salman's indictment in the black buck killing case.
And filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma , who is taking the gamble of casting Katrina in the role of widow Radha in his Sholay remake, believes that Katrina has matured a lot over the years.
"I have directed Katrina in 'Sarkar'. I know what she is capable of. She is a classic beauty," Ramu is quoted as saying.
Even David Dhawan , who has worked once with Katrina and is now working again, thinks, "Katrina has much potential than seems at the first glance."
After all, it is not for nothing Katrina has also been signed for Abbas Mastan's next thriller that stars three top heroes and two other top heroines of Bollywood.
Slow but steady, Katrina has been making her niche. And she has already begun to get her due.
