Dhani is accepted into Amber's family as a ploy to kill her so Amber will end up with Sarla. As it happens, Sudha [Dhaani's mom] meets with the pandit and has made a "knock off" copy of Amber's stars, in which it has been written that Amber's stars are going through a horrible time where it will harm his wife. As a result, Bhagwati ji & Sarla's mom agree to bring Dhani back to the house so all of the bad things will happen to Dhani instead of Sarla. But continuously, bad things happen to Sarla because Sudha makes them happen by giving money to thugs to harm her and so on. Eventually Sarla's mother gets fed up with this & takes Sarla back to her house & throws Madhu at the Rajuwanshi doorstep. Badri and Bhagwati ji realize it was Sudha causing all of the problems, however at this point, Badri states that he does not want to fight it anymore, he wants to accept Dhaani because it makes his son happy. Bhagwati ji is beyond furious and tells Sarla's mom everything who in turn, has Sudha arrested for fraud.
