Sa Re Ga Ma Pa returns

New show will feature the 24 finalists of the last season

While the excitement surrounding the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa grand finale continues to soar, plans for starting the new season this March are already underway.
While the new show will not be different in format from the first, it will get a new name – Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Ek Mein Aur Ek Tu and it will feature the 24 finalists of the contest held in 2005.
"The return of the show is a result of the overwhelming response it generated in the past," informs Ashish Kaul, sr. vice president, corporate communication Zee TV.
"The last six weeks have seen a big leap in the TRP ratings of the show. We have been receiving lakhs of SMSes and emails from people who are reacting to the contest. Taking these loyal viewers into consideration, we are coming up with a fresh series which will include the ousted contestants too. These 24 finalists of the challenge 2005 will be given another chance," he says.
The show in the past has been known to give some of the best in musical talents to the industry like Kunal Gunjawala, Shreya Ghosal and Sunidhi Chauhan. Besides the musical talent generated, the show has been backed by the likes of Subhash Ghai, Himesh Reshammiya, Aadesh Srivastava and Ismail Darbar. "It is a matter of great pride that even before the contest draws to a conclusion, some of the singers have recorded for various films already. We don't make idols nor do we make poster boys," adds Kaul.
Further, Kaul informs that there is a possibility that the final episode might be postponed by a week as Vinit has gone home to Lucknow, while Debojit is in Guwahati. The contestants are also scheduled to go to seek the blessings from Mata Vaishno Devi.
As for the judges, "In all probability we will have the same judges but that will be finalised in a couple of days," Kaul informs.

They should change the ranking system

According to me they should just forget about all of this and just start Challenge 2006 with new rules and stuff.. these ppl are anyway getting a chance to sing in movies and stuff. after all its a reality show, whts the point of bringing them over and over again. if any, maybe the first four or so who got eliminated in final 12 shud be given another chance as wild card entrants or something since they dint get much chance to showcase their talent and hence might not have any offers or such in hand.

change voting system, and sharib better stay in the top

they will stick to public voting.. that is their main source of revenue..
as for gettin back the 24 finalist its just one of the ways to increase their TRPs and to apply balm to their guilty conscience
