There's no IPL connection to Salman Khan's cricket, it's just going to be for the love of the game and a good cause. What we're talking about is Salman being in Dubai on May 21 and playing for the BH Cup. Celebs from India and Pakistan will play a cricket match to promote the concept of 'Being Human', Salman's charity, to his fans in the UAE.
The stars from India, apart from Salman, include his brother Arbaaz (who'll captain the Indian side), and also expected are Govinda, Sharman Joshi, Ritesh Deshmukh, Jackie Shroff, Azharuddin and Vinod Kambli. And guess who's going to be cheering for this Indian team? The names here include Dia Mirza, Neha Dhupia, Riya Sen and Salman's 'Veer' heroine Zarine Khan.
The Pakistani celeb contingent is expected to include Shaan Shahid, Ali Zafar, HSY, Umar Sharif Imran Abbas, Adnan Siddiqui and Ijaz Aslam. And the cheerleading squad is expected to include Iman Ali, Reema, Mahnoor Balouch and Nadia Hussein as well as the musical group Strings.
Organised by Cynosure, the cricket match will be held at Dubai Sports City's cricket stadium. And there's a gala dinner and fashion show scheduled the day after the match.
Excited to see Salman and the stars play cricket? We sure are! Watch this space on Masala.com for more details on this fun celeb event that supports a good cause too.
A source reveals, "All the proceeds from the match will go to Being Human. Representing the Pakistani celeb side will be actors Ali Zafar, Shaan Shahid, Adnan Siddiqui and Ijaz Aslam. Their cheerleaders are expected to include Nadia Hussein, the musical group Strings, Reema and Iman Ali."
