Filmfare Technical Awards announced

MUMBAI: The dramatic hues of Black stood out as the Technical winners of the 51st Fair One Filmfare Awards were announced last evening.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's acclaimed film picked up three awards - Best Cinematography for Ravi K Chandran, Best Background Score for Monty & Best Editing for Bela Sehgal.

Close behind came Pradeep Sarkar's bitter-sweet romance Parineeta with two winners: Best Sound Design for Bishwadeep Chatterjee and Best Art Direction for Keshto Mondal, Tanushree Sarkar & Pradeep Sarkar.

Small budget-wonder Page 3 grabbed the Best Screenplay award for Nina Arora and Manoj Tyagi while director Prakash Jha's fiery lines for Apaharan will get him the Best Dialogue trophy.

Sudhir Mishra's Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, set against the political turmoil of the Emergency and the Naxalite movement, picked up the Best Story Award for him, Shiv Kumar Subramanium & Ruchi Narain.

And Allan Amin's slick stunts for Dus were adjudged the Best Action of 2005.

The trophies will be presented at the 51st Fair One Filmfare Awards ceremony to be held on February 25 at Mumbai.
