Well I don't think it was a good decision by the cabinet to ask Tharoor to resign .He is on the best politicians and an orator too..Today when he landed in Trivandrum , his response to the media was good.He said -The world is devoloping, India is devolping but his state Kerala is not and he tried to to so something for his state, but on his journey to accomplish something , there were some thorns like the IPl controversy, He said he is considering these as his lessons of politics. Well all I think India has just lost of its finest politicians, I 'm sure he will come back to power. He deserves a chance to get to the crease and play his innings before the match is decided.
Well what's your opinion about him??

Well he just had plans to devolop the citiy of Trivandrum with some Twin City project .He met some Barcelona officials regarding this matter..Whatever it be, one needs time and chance to prove themselves, and Tharoor just lost his.

well yeah we'll never know, and I doubt this was to get votes, considering he was already minister , but its his own fault that he granted 70 crores to that lady for buying a kerala team.

Sashi Tharoor gave 70 cr to that LADY... the barcelona team had more LADIES .... Sashi's plans include development (and more ladies on a personal dimention).
Sashi sure is a good policymaker...

But maybe we need more people who can DO ... and tackle the ups and downs to make their plans a reality.

If he failed ... HE FAILED. There is no other way round it.

Tharoor had to go to clear the path for nailing bigger fishes in the murky waters of IPL

Hell yeah. I mean, how could a man who lobbied vehemently lobbied for a 70 crore 'sweat equity' for his gf and staying in a 5-star hotel 'out of his own money' do for the country? Agreed the man had a lt of potential, but failed to convert that potential. He spent his entire political career balming this person and that, in other words, he overdid it. If you look at it from a political POV, of course Congress would put pressure on him because he traversed his party's main slogan. He could only talk and say big things, but never implemented on those. He had the resources, and the brain, but what about the will power?

Lovely post by Ice-Thinker.

I personally was very impressed the first time I watched him on television when he visited Mauritius. He had the ideas, the vision. But then he did what he did and crashed them all.

As they say, if he failed, he FAILED. There's no other way to put it. All mistakes are not so easily forgiven.

By the way, what exactly did happen? So the 70 million were at his own expense or the State's? Well am guessing at the State's then, since it's such a huge controversy. Personally, I can't see how a politician's private life and public life cannot be mixed, any celebrity's for that matter of fact. When you're a public figure, you're a PUBLIC figure!!!

The controversy was that Shashi Tharoor, who is a minister of Kerala, kept lobbying for the clients of Sunanda Pushkar's consultancy agency for the purchase of the new Kochi team in the IPL. They won, of course, and both Congress and the Parliament thought that Tharoor had misused his power and his position in the Parliment, especially after his 'dear friend' got an equity of 70 crores as a reward from the company.
