Even though i found the episode quite a drag, I am posting my analysis for today's episode.
There were two questions that stood out in the whole episode:
1. Shanky to Sid: Tum kaise pati ho?👏
2. Armaan to Ridz: Tum kaisi patni ho?👏
This was not the first time Sid was asked this question- even Ridz asked him a few episodes ago when he wanted Ridz to pose as Armaan's wife.
These questions were much needed and both the husband and wife need to seriously answer these questions before hastily signing those divorce papers or even if they decide to stay together.
As they say haste makes waste. Just as the wedding was done in a haste without much thought given to the consequences, the divorce papers have also been signed in a haste, without much communication or thought given to it by either party.
Today, I actually liked Shashank for a change. Even though he was pro SR in this part, his words made sense and as a parent, I would have given the same advise to my son in law. Of course his pearls of archaic wisdom to his daughter are incomprehensible in this day and age in a metro like Mumbai and by an educated man like shanky.
Armaan acted a little more mature today when he confronted Riddhima with 'kaisi patni ho tum? Tumhare dimaag mein kya chalta hai? Tum kay kehti, kya sochti ho?" Yes, armaan i am glad you gave her something to introspect on. She needed that dose because she pretends that she is a dedicated wife, but has yet to fulfill any obligations of a dutiful wife since Armaan has re entered. She can at least start with a conversation with Sid where she spells what she really wants, instead of blasting him or crying.
I felt sorry for Armaan when he asked, "kya tum aaj bhi mujh se pyaar karti ho? Keh do yeh jhooth hai?"
Even though he would have loved a truthful answer and a YES, for her sake and the sanctity of her marriage he wanted her to say NO.
Madam Riddhima, as always, just gave him a dirty glare and walked off without saying yes or no...now how is a guy supposed to interpret that?
Her 'no response' to Sid had him interpret that she still loves Armaan and now this 'no response' to Armaan probably raises Armaan's expectations for no reason.
One thing that did bother me about Armaan was- if he could tell her that Sid told me you love me, why did he not mention that Sid loves you a lot and in fact married you because he loves you. I know Armaan's intentions are noble and he wants SR to keep their marriage intact, but this omission might actually create more problems between all three characters.
So, the big question is why did Ridz sign the DP and why is she not happy about it? Is it the bond with Sid or is it an insult to her as a woman?
I think it is the latter. She feels let down as Sid had married her with a promise- he will always be there for her, but now since Armaan has been back, despite of her reluctance to go back to him as she wants to stay back as his wife, he has made a one sided decision. She feels unwanted and also feels guilty that she couldn't fulfill the obligations of a good wife. She has always aspired to be a good girl and the DP are a slap on the face of a good girl. She feels dejected and humiliated. IMO, this is why she was upset about the divorce, not because she loves Sid deeply.
Well, she has signed the papers in a haste, just like she had agreed to the marriage. Both were decisions taken without much thought, and both have and will give her tons of grief and guilt.
Will she be happy after the divorce? NO, i don't think so, because she will feel like a failure once again- she failed her lover by marrying someone else in a haste and now failed her marriage.
So, who are the idiots for today:
# 1:
Hands down Riddhima! For staying mum when Armaan asked her a question and then sending the DP through Armaan instead of talking to Sid or handing them over herself.
# 2:
Sid for being so intimidated by the power of Armaan's love that he has not even made an attempt to ask Riddhima's POV before sending the DP.This is despite Ridz blasting him for making decisions on her behalf.
# 3:
Armaan for becoming a messenger between S and R. Also, not telling Ridz that he beat Sid up to get him to confess his love for Ridz.
My perdiction:
More rona dhona
More circus
More circles
More confusion
Sometimes I wonder if both men are reluctant to take Riddhima and that's why keep offering to sacrifice for each other. Perhaps the men would rather just be bachelors at this stage instead of dealing with Ridz and her web of confusion.
