I love them both, but I most say Ranbir has gives us 2 hit movies last year. I loved Shahid in Kaminey, but I think its high time for him to make more serious movie and dont accept every single movie request.

Ranbir has been smart about the movies he has chosen and his performance is surely consistent.

However the same cannot be said of Shahid Kapoor. For every Kaminey there is a DBH and Chance pe Dance.

Ranbir definitely has an edge over Shahid because he had three different performances, which he did full justice to, while Shahid only has Kaminey. I loved Rocket Singh and Wake Up Sid. Ranbir was awesome in them. APKGK, he was alright. He did justice to the role. One could argue he was over the top in it, but to me, that's how the story was.

Shahid was good in Kaminey, though I am not exactly a fan of the movie itself. DBH and CPD were disaster to say the least, and his acting was below par.

p.s. This topic would actually come under comparison topic, which are no longer allowed. Danger of imminent fan wars, you see. =)

I'm a die hard fan of Shahid, and I love him in every performance, film, and basically everything about him. However I feel that Ranbir trully deserves better as he did a lot of wonderful films and he worked reallyyyy hard! Shahid also worked very hard in Kaminey. But I think Ranbir deserves the credit.
