CID Special Bureau to take season break

"Yes I have heard that Special Bureau is taking a bow. I think the channel wants to rework their line-up, which is why this is happening," said an actor from the show. Another theory doing the rounds is that all the shows handled by former business head Tarun Katial will be taken off the air, starting from Kudkudiya House No 43.

We spoke to Yash Patnaik, supervising producer for Fireworks, the production house that handles CID, to get his version. "The show isn't going off air, it's just taking a season break around mid-March. The format that we work in requires us to constantly reinvent ourselves."

Sources indicate that if Special Bureau comes back after a break, it may not necessarily have the same team. Some actors may be retained, while others may have to quit. When asked, Yash said, "I can't comment on this, the channel will decide when the time comes."

Thrilling plans

He added that Fireworks is in the process of producing an hourly supernatural series on the lines of Aahat. "Thrillers have been our forte, so why not come up with better ones? We will be hitting the floor very soon with this new project."
