India has extended an invitation to Obama to visit the country which is expected to take place later this year.
"Our Prime Minister said that we in India were looking forward eagerly to the visit of President and Mrs Obama to India later this year," Rao said.
"A visit is definitely planned for this year. We do not have dates as yet but both Governments are working on that," she said.

What is wrong with MMS, esp when it comes to west...he always behaves like a chaploos. Once he buttered GWB, and during Britain visit he praised British raj in India. 👎🏼
MMS ji. BO ko itna makkhan lagana ek Bhartiya Pradhan Mantri ko shobha nahi deta. Aapki imagination ko caught kiya hoga BO ne, aam Bhartiya ki imagination ko nahi. Aam Bhartiya to BO ke baare mein jaanta tak nahi, infact bahut saare Bhartiya aise bhi hain jo aapko tak nahi jaante...BO ko to bhool hi jaao.
And BO has been anything but pro-India. He is aiding/arming Pakistan massively, trying to undermine Indian role in Afghanistan. He is also trying to force our hands...to protect his client state Pakistan. His administration is also pressuring us to snap ties with Iran.
And what about the nuclear deal..MMS was so keep to get the deal thru Parliament that he even risked his own govt...and till date we are seeing controversies on this issue.
Dawood Gilani aka David Headley ka kissa to ab sabko pata hi hai, he was a key member in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, baad mein pata chala ki woh double agent tha...woh US payroll par bhi tha...ab US govt is not giving us access to him. Even Danish (or was it Dutch) investigators were allowed access to him...wob bhi bahut pehle.
MMS is making India look like a client state of US! Can you imagine China behaving in this manner...not even in wildest dreams.
