Music video shoot!!

We arrive at the beautiful ND studio and are taken the floor where the video is being shot. Since there are 18 contestants in all, you cannot have them in a single frame, so a group of boy and girls contestants are banded together and sequences of the funky music video is shot.

The first group we see rehearsing includes the sexy firang actress Hazel in a long red tube dress and the very much in love couple, Karan Kundra and Kritika Kamra. The latter had worn a pair of hot pants but keeping up with the tradition of Indian television she had worn stockings as well. Dancer Mukti also looked very funky in her short skirt. The entire look of the video is very cool and hep just like today's modern college kids.

All the four actors were very diligently practicing their steps. Some of them were even seen dancing before they were called on the floor. Each team had been given a choreographer who was trying to make sure that their students beat the hell out of the others.

Hats off to the entire team as the shoot was being conducted in the heat of the day. But nobody was complaining as they know how important promotions are, for the success of any show. Lots of water was in demand though!

Very soon even we were tapping our feet as Pritam's number was superb. And the aggression, the boy and the girls were showing as part of the format was fun. Mukti, being a staunch woman's libber was particularly hard we guess, as she had a point to prove. Her guy better watch out! Hazel was quite easy in her steps and looked really comfortable. Karan and Kriitka, although not being natural dancers were really working hard and getting better with each rehearsal.


Then we broke for lunch, all were quite happy to take a break from the scorching summer heat. Item queen Rakhi Sawant called us for a separate chat in her beautiful chalet, offered us tea and had a nice talk( we will publish that a bit later). Coming to her part in the music video which was shot yesterday, Rakhi says they made her perform stunts, "I did them without a body double," proudly states this item girl. Where you have Rakhi, you need to have ex-boyfriend Abishekh Awasthy too. Even he performed stunts. According to Abhishekh, at first he was not very keen about a music video but after seeing the set up and production values, he changed his mind. When asked if he was scared to do stunts he said fear was not in his DNA.

After rest and recreation, we returned to the sets where this time Nach Balliye winner Aamir Ali showed lots of cleavage along with now on and now off Balliye, Sanjida Shiekh . The other actors in this sequence (which was on top of a truck) were Angad Hansija and Aditi Gupta. The last couple to make up this trio was Sushant Singh Rajput and Rashmi Desai. Sushant was smoking away till the props were ready while Rashmi was eating and offering cashew nuts all around , baby look after you weight…..we say!

Soon the reversals started and Sushant was made to climb up the position above the driver where he and Rashmi started practicing their moves. The director was a bit cagey and requested the chorographer to move things in haste as the sun was setting down. The chemistry between Aamir and Sanjida was beautiful. Angad, who done many music videos back home in Punjab was also getting into his groove. Sushant did not appear comfortable and was heard complaining to the EP. Once the pictures were captured, the director told the actors to chill saying that they will use the pictures only if they come out very good so they should not worry.

Within minutes, the very efficient unit moved their attention to another promo sequences which had a face-off between Nach Balliye winners Rakhi Sawant and Aamir Ali. It is a well-known fact that the two don't get along after the former had complained that she was denied a win in the prestigious Jodi STAR Plus dance. The competitive spirit between the two was there to be seen and will surely act as a bench mark for the other contestants to raise the bar.


All major dance sequences were shot after we left. The actors apparently really enjoyed the water and dance sequences. Even we wanted to join them but alas the 8.15 Indrani Express at Karjat station bellowed us.
