Do you watch movies? Do you eat chocolates? Do you go out for a break?

How do you deal with a heartbreak? I am talking about genuine hearbreaks here..
Here's a story. A friend of mine liked this guy. They are good friends. They went partying. She was a little tipsy. And then as he was dropping her back home, he actually kissed her that night and they sort of got a little cosy.. quite alot.. AND it was her first kiss. first hug. first everything..

Next day, when I met her, she was glowing.. She was happy.
The day after i met her ..the guy called her up and told her to not get things so serious. According to him, whatever that took place the other night, was REALLY not big of a deal and to him, nothing happened at all. And that it's best for both of them to forget it.

My friend is shattered. She feels stupid, ashamed and guilty. She is a very sweet girl. Quite naive infact. To her, the world is a fairytale.. and she was even thinking as far as getting married and all that. She can't even question the guy because watever happened was with her consent. She has become really quiet these days.
I've tried EVERYTHING from taking her out to a movie, talking it out with her, letting her be for sometime, gifting her things, bringing her fav food... but she's just not the same.. And I don't know how to help her.
I don't intend to make this debate a personal one.. but I am really concerned..

How do you guys deal with a heartbreak?

Is first love really THAT difficult to forget - is she overreacting?

Do you talk to your parents about heartbreaks?

And most importantly, what do you do if your heart is broken by a good friend of yours?

She must be very young I assume - she is going to be fine, its just a matter of time and please do not keep on reminding the event time and time again

People go through such events all the time - they get depressed for a short period of time, just give her a space and do not give her a special treatment, just keep it normal

Ah yes young hearts are fragile and very vulnerable. Sorry about that , she seems pretty emo. But she should know better now and be more careful in letting herself lose herself and get tipsy.
Fortunate she was not drugged.
Ask her to joing IF and get some idea on how to deal with such situations.
We have many heart specialists here.

I think that only good friends like you can make her feel better after the heart break. Love and reasoning can cure a heart break and loving friends are one of the best things.
