That Indian Contemporary, I felt it was Indian folk, but anyway it was Indian!! 😉 That Chalbaaz act was Bollywood Freestyle!! But when Shakti did it, it became Contemporary!!! LOLOL... So with ya about Paso Doble!! See my post - the reason why some people miss it as to what Paso Doble is... 😉 😊

I think people observe Shakti more than any other dancers..Thats why whatever she does she gets "scanned" and people start looking for Contemporary in whatever she dances. Thats why some of these people notice Shakti's short clothes but fail to notice others equally short clothes or maybe shorter. Thats why Shakti's dances appear Contemporary, but Dharmesh's does not appear Hip-Hop,. Thats why, Binny's imporper posture is never criticized.
Whats the point in explaining when either way at this time none's POV is going to change and favorites are not going to either.

LOL SAS, so true!! In fact we should be proud of Shakti - she makes people "watch" her DANCE and not something else!! People just stare at Binny's face when she is dancing - solo or duet, that in the duets D gets saved that way! Same happened with her Meenakumari costume too, no one noticed it! With Amrita's punk costume, people were looking at her hairdo that day I think! That's a smart move - trying to keep the focus of viewers somewhere else than dance and costume...

Everything is compared against Shakti - looks like Shakti is the measuring scale for DID now!! 😆

And Geeta's choreography for Jack and Amrita was simply amazing. This performance really was her answer to all the allegations regarding she copying Terence and Remo's dances.

Anyone who is watching DID to actually watch the performance, "watches" all the contestants dance. Why do people have to refer to someone's face or hair or costume? Shakti is a great dancer, but you cannot tell me people, especially guys, don't look at her face or her body instead of recognizing her dance? Sadly, it is human nature to distract oneself to something of less importance. Binny is a great dancer also. She has given some great performances and one can only imagine how good she would be if she was trained under Terrance (as we all know Terrance is AWESOME)! Amrita is probably the strongest dancer on this show, yet people are giving so much importance to her look. This is not a beauty contest.

Shakti is an amazing dancer who can't be compared to others, but the same goes for Binny and Amrita. They all have their strengths and weaknesses and are all different from one another.

If you think about it, most of the people either compare against Shakti or Dharmesh. Why? Because they are the most popular contestants on the show. I am sorry, if it comes to dancing, Amar and Amrita and Binny have excelled in all styles, yet they are very underrated. For these 3 people just want to use their looks and bash their dancing, especially Binny and Amrita.

Just so you know, I posted what I did in reference to someone's query. I have nothing against who dances to what, it is everyone else that is making such a big deal about it. Granted, I do wish Shakti and Dharmesh would do more styles, but hey, there is nothing we can do about it.

Plus, all the above dances Shakti has done that I listed, I mentioned that people probably think Shakti only does contemporary because the above dances has contemporary segments in them. I know what each of the dance is named, i added the contemporary for that person to see why people might think she does lots of contemporary. Old School Jazz and Paso Doble is ballroom dancing which requires techniques. A contemporary dancer is fully and well trained in techniques that are comprised in many ballroom style dances due to the posture and toe point requirements. Zindagi mein koi Kabhi was NOT INDIAN FOLK!! Indian Folk is a more traditional dance to celebrate joy and occasions. Hence it was fully Indian Contemporary with some beautiful simple indian movement with contemporary, even Terrance will tell you that.

Btw.. please keep in mind, this is just healthy debating. I am for Amrita & Amar so this doesn't bother me 😊
