@navneeta
Point 1: Sur etc wise (well my POV) it was ok, the feel of the song was missing. It's understandable that singing like Md. Rafi is not possible, but you get goosebumps when you listen to the original .... and when after all the issue 9 marks are given ... it raises question with me ...
Point 2: In the first para ... Rahul sang 2 lines lyrics wrong .... After 'Abhi to Kuch Kaha Nahin .. Abhi to Kuch Suna Nahi .... he sang Bura na mano baat ka .. yeh pyar hein gila nahin, but it was wrong .. it should be another 2 line .. listen to the original video .. these 2 lines comes after a complete different stranza in the next para ...
Point 3: Even before Neeti forgot her lines ... the start part of female song was trembing and both were singing together "Sitare Jhilmila Uthe" .. then Neeti forgot the line ... Abhi mein .. and Rahul singing all female lines "Ruk Gayi Abhi .. To Jaa Na Paungi Kabhi" etc etc .. and even the last Nahi Nahi ... Neeti sang the male part and Rahul the female part and net net .... did a satyanash o fthe entire mood of the song and was so much appreciated and backed up and was justified .... just listen to both version ....
The original should not be compared with rahul & nitis performance. From my POV when I heard rahul-nitis song first time, I really liked it and although niti forgot her lines & rahul covered up for her, but I did enjoy the performance, rahuls voice was soft & beautiful throught the song (i m not a fan of rahul, bt i m genuinely saying this). And the song did have the "Feel".
In your 2nd point u mentioned that rahul sang 2 lines were not according to the original, but actually if we go to see all performances on reality shows they are like that, they dont sing lines according to the original, the original might be 5 mins they cut particular lines & make it 3 min performance.
When we watch any old song being performed by these singers we shouldnt compare it with originals, bcoz they dont sing according to original, and they make changes.

as you said, to sing like mohd rafi is an impossible task.. rahul vaidya has no right even attempting rafi songs.

Purpose of this post was to highlight the opinion after the song was complete ....
When any such legendry song is tagged as "kya gaya ... bohut achcha" it atleast has to come to a little nearby the original .... in terms of mood and soul and this one is a soul based song ... in this same MKMM we have seen Amey was bashed so many times inspite of singing in Sur and Taal .. and was given so less marks with clause that mood was not there .... I guess rule applies to all ....
When you cut paste lyrics of one para to another .. and the appealing para is mixed with compain para lyrics ... after "Mein Thori Der Jee to Lu" .... "Pyar Hein Gila Nahin" .. it itself kills the mood ... if the full song is not to be sung .. fine .. sing the 1st para .. why mix lyrics and kill the mood ....
The last nail to the coffin was when Rahul and Neeti were singing together .. "Sitare Jhilmila uthe ... byas aab to mukhko Tok na" both singing maat tok na ... and then the less told about the 'presence of mind' part the better .... Rahul singing "Agar Mein Ruk Gayi Abhi .. Jaa Na Paungi Kabhi" was sounding like a song for Dostana2 ...
The point which I realised here ... is that this was one appreciated and given 9 marks .... which was a real shame ...
Rahul is a great singer and I have heard him singing very nice songs in JJWS .... this is just that performance on that day and Shankar justifying as marks should be given for performance (!!!) ... so PKMM - Performance Ka Maha Muqabla .... actually was meant ...
It was a pure murder of the song ....

Well, I liked the fact that they managed to get over the forgotten lyrics and tried their best to make it sound like a romantic moment. I appreciate their "presence of mind" and would overlook their "forgotten lyrics" There are so many singers in reality shows that the singers miss their cue and ask to start over again. e.g. Rajiv/sanchali in SRGMP/EMET, Asma from SRGMP challenge 2009. these are just examples. there are more like this.
Instead of asking for a timeout and a restart, they went on gamely. I happen to think Neeti is probably the least talented of singers in MKMM and Rahul thinks too much of himself. But, you cannot overlook their effort in trying to make a moment of it. I am sure the judges felt the same.
Anyway, water under the bridge for me. Looks like your bridge got flooded in this water 😊

Well everyone can have their POV ... forgetting lyrics is not the issue .. one bad performance was also not the issue ... it can happen anytime for even the best singers ... one bad day everyone can experience ...
Issue is not at all why lyrics has been forgotten ... etc etc ... it is the hype and support and justification that was being given after this muder of song ....
Anyone knowing the song would understand what it was 😡 that day. The soul of the song was totally lost .. any one singing anyline (who is male who is female ... messed up) anywhere was the issue .. and that can happen ... they were worse in the pre-finale, but that was not hyped so no issue on that ... but this one was hyped to the extreme level .... that is where it deviated from ethics and the purpose of the post is .... and the reason I posted both the song links .... giving this one a 9 😕 and telling so many things for Amey's performance on feel etc ....
I have no comment for Neeti as a singer ... but for Rahul, yes he is a good singer and his JJWS songs were really good ... in MKMM some were good but mostly he came with Neeti in duet, DJ Loyds were mostly sung by Sharib and in other times he did not got chance as Captain was singing himself in all rounds ....

Amey was given a very raw deal by the judges. He was good in sur and feel but the other side was always given higher marks. Samething with Hemachandra. I think Mohits team was the most ill treated team in the comp.

Fully agree with you .... Mohit's team (including Mohit) was treated very badly ....
Shaan's fate would have been the same (I mean eliminated before semi's) unless he himself and his team would not have been viewers favourite and crowd puller and TRP and vote raiser ... the great Gaj used this team till finale to get all TRP and cores of votes (rozi, roti and barkat) and then mistreated him ...
