So why should Krishna have everyone here (including me) swooning for him? Why should we root for him despite the fact that he steam rolled over a helpless young girl and her family and forced her into marrying him? Why should we fear his getting hurt and rejected at her hands? Indeed why should we get irritated at Pratigya for not accepting him at this juncture? Why has this illiterate, street smart, male chauvinistic goon suddenly captured our sympathies and affection?
It can't only be about his rugged looks or the intense eyes (what I notice most about him)...though these undoubtedly help! Its mainly because at the end of the day despite all his flaws...all his grey shades...the sincerity and depth of his love stand out. He loves her and wants her...not just as a woman...but as his companion....as his soulmate...Her tears trouble him...He'll fight for her rights with her even if it means touching her feet in front of the world. He'll wait on her...and make sure that others do too! And even when she unceremoniously rejects him, he's unable to harbour any grudges against her! Yes...he gets angry....but he also forgives her...Because his love leaves him with no other choice! Its undeniable that from the day he set his eyes on his girl, his heart beats only for her. Family, friends, relations....not even he himself is allowed priority when it comes to his Pratigya. He'll break all rules, all norms for her...He'll go against his own upbringing...defy his own beliefs about women's subjugation for her! His priorities are clear...and no one could be more forthright about them than him.And that is indicative about the second reason for his massive appeal...His complete no-nonsense, candidness...He is in love...That's it! There's no beating about the bush...no niceties...no dilly dallying! Yes...he made a mistake in understanding Pratigya's feelings...But that is part of his blunt character...Subtleties escape him! What is in his heart...is immediately on his face! In this, he and his lady love are completely the opposite!Krishna is so attractive because of the many layers of his character! It's funny...the creatives set out to create a strong female character...but ended up making a highly interesting hero instead! My only regret...I want to see more of his feelings...post marriage..and post his rejection by Pratigya! I was surprised not to see a solo scene on him when he walked out of the house that particular night! Where did he go....what did he do? His anger...his frustration...his heart break...his hurt...I wanted to see it! I hope they oblige me on htat front soon..!!!!!!!!!!
