Brief Written updates of the Fortnight

1^st March
-Savita Aai tells Archana that she can only stay in the chawl if she agrees to break all relations with her mayka for the remaining 2 months.
- Archana agrees to the shart.
-Satish and Varsha's engagement rituals are completed.
-Varsha tells Satish that he needs to let Bhavna Aai know that what she did was wrong. Bhavna Aai over hears this conversation.
-Bhavna Aai invites Rasika Aai and Ajit to their house for holi celebrations.
-Varsha tells her family that she won't go to play holi if Ajit will be there. Varsha and Manjusha have an argument. Varsha later agrees to go to the celebrations.
-Savita Aai asks Manav for an explanation for him being at the Karanjkars. Manav says he doesn't need to explain himself and that Shravani knew he was going to be there.
-Savita Aai tells Shravani that she needs to fight for Manav.

2^nd March
-Satish talks to Bhavna Aai and tells her that calling Ajit to the wedding was wrong on her part.
-Archana asks Manav for forgiveness, for being his biggest gunegar.
-Shravani sees ArMan together and drags Archana out of the room.
-Shravani tells everyone that she can't see ArMan together.
-Savita Aai tells Manav to complain against Ajit, but Manav says he won't do it.

3^rd March
-Manav says that he won't file a complaint against Ajit, because too many people's lives will be destroyed if he does so.
-Varsha, Vaishali and Satish have a cute tai-jeeja-saali moment.
-Shravani is supposed to do the Holi rituals but Archana says that Shravani shouldn't because everyone might be able to tell that she is pregnant.
-Shravani says that its alright if everyone finds out now than later.
-Rasika Aai and Ajit arrive at Bhavna Aai's house and Varsha tells Ajit that she doesn't want him in her house anymore.
-Shravani is doing the Holi rituals with Manav and the neighbors can tell that she is pregnant.
-The chawl neighbors are talking and Archana tells them that it is true that Shravani is pregnant and asks them to keep the pregnancy issue on a low.

4^th March
-The police come and arrest Ajit from Satish's house.
-At the Deshmukh's, everyone is wondering who made the complaint against Ajit.
-The Police tell Rasika Aai, that Ajit can't get out until he's done two days in jail. Rasika asks who filed the complaint and they find out it was Vandita.
-At the Deshmukh's Manav asks Vandu why she filed the complaint.
-Vandu says that she couldn't let ArMan and Sachin's gunegar loose.
-Everyone plays holi!
-Manav and Archana put color on each other.

5^th March
-Ajit tries to get revenge on Vandu by trying to rape her.
-Vandu escapes.
-Manav takes Vandu and goes to jail to file a complaint against Ajit, but finds him still in jail.
-Manav accuses the cops of having a hand in this. Manav vows to make Ajit pay for his deeds.
-We find out that an inspector had helped Ajit escape from jail.

8^th March
-Rasika Aai calls Manjusha and tells her about Vandu's accusations.
-The Deshmukh's find out about Ajit's release. Manav sets out to handle Ajit, but Archana tries to stop him. He doesn't listen to her but he listens to Shravani *for the sake of her child*
-Satish and Bhavna Aai have another argument over Ajit and Varsha.
-Ajit sends a courier with the picture of him attempting to rape Vandu to the Deshmukh's.
-Archana takes the picture, takes it to Rasika and warns Ajit that if he tries to hurt Vandu again, she would hand that photo over to the cops.
-Archana shows Manav the picture and tells him that she had warned Ajit.

9^th March
-Satish and Varsha's wedding day is set.
-Varsha has a condition that Ajit will not be invited. Satish's parents agree to the condition.
-Savita Aai burns the photo that Ajit had sent.
-Shravani tells Manav that she is in love with him and can't wait to see him and Archana divorced; Archana over hears the conversation.
-At college, Ajit threatens Vandu with acid.
-Vandu tells Archana about what happened and Archana is in a dilemma about what to do with Ajit.

10^th March
-Vinod and Manjusha get into a heated conversation over Varsha, and Vinod slaps Manjusha.
-Rasika Aai finds out about Vinod slapping Manjusha and goes to the women's community.
-Bhavna Aai and Varsha sort out some of their misunderstandings; Varsha tells Bhavna Aai that she respects her enough to handle Ajit for a day.
-Satish officially says ILU to Varsha :D
-Manav gets gifts for everyone.
-Vinod decides to go to the women's community to get Manjusha

11^th March
-Ajit trashes Savita Aai at the market. Varsha sees this and takes Savita Aai's side.
-Vinod goes to the Women's community and asks Manju for forgiveness.
-Rasika Aai wants Ajit to go to America. Ajit decides to stay one more day for Gudi Padwa so he can take revenge from ArMan.
-Sharavani tells Archana not to interfere in her's and Manav's mamle's.

12^th March
-Archana tells Manav about Ajit tryin to hurt Vandu at college
-Manav is raging mad and goes to Ajit's house and beats him up.
-Ajit says that he will definitely take revenge
-The Deshmukh's decide that everyone will go to Vandu's function.
-Everyone is preparing for Gudi Padwa

13^th March ' Maha Episode - Credit to mitts
-Gudi Padwa celebrations are on
-Vandus function is on and Ajit comes and tells everyone that he raped Vandu and apologizes
-Savita blames Archu for this and throws her out
-Archu goes to Mahila Samiti party and tells everything to everyone'they give Rasika 5 days to take action or else resign.
-Vandu attempts suicide'Archu too jumps..Manav saves both

Dialogue Male and Female of the Fortnight

Considering the events of this fortnight, we didn't have as many hard-hitting dialogues, but we did manage to have one, yes just one (blush), good dialogue' and it came in the middle of the fortnight.

Tum mein aur archana mein kitna farak hain, lekin tum dono ke sanskaar, sanskaar ek hain - Bhavana Aai

This was the scene at Satish's house, in his kitchen, between Bhavana Ai and Varsha. I thought this was just such a lovely scene, and it is good to see that Bhavana Ai is actually softening up to Varsha. You could tell from this scene that Bhavana Ai honestly likes Varsha and this wasn't a facade that she was putting up in front of everyone. We do not need another "Savita-Archana" relationship between the two, so this was definitely a refresher to watch from the usual "saas-bahu" drama.

Star Male and Female of the Fortnight

Star Female : mm... well this fortnight we have a CHANGE!! every week i have posted Archu (i think) but this time we have a new candidate ... she handles herself very well, she was outstanding this fortnight for a number of things ... first of even though BA gives her a load of crap she always talks to her with respect and she respects her a lot ... and she always sides with the truth... and i loved it when she went to the market and gave ajit an earfull.. ajit was so speechless and he didnt even no what to do!! and i loved how she supported Sav aai when she was being verbally abused by ajit ... i think we have all guessed who she is by now .... the Star Female of the Fortnight goes to ... Vershu !!

Star Actor and Actress of the Fortnight

Star Actor : This one contender has been put off, week after week, because he just seems to be the obvious winner every time. I cannot resist the urge to give him this spot anymore, thus the Star Actor of the Fortnight Male goes to Sushant Singh Rajput! His portrayal of Manav Deshmukh has been spot on from the very first episode in which he was shown. The way he has brought this character together is perfect, every expression Manav has is unique to him but still believable and normal. The fight scenes with Ajit this past fortnight were really interesting to watch. Sushant's constant changes from angry expressions (around Ajit, Savita, Shravani) to soft, sweet, love-filled ones around Archana have been believable and convincing. One moment that truly stood out was near the end of the Maha Episode, when he looked exasperatedly back and forth between Archana and Vandita after having pulled both out of the lake. Sushant has truly done a wonderful job in every single scene, and I cannot resist from giving him this position anymore, because he definitely deserves it!

Star Actress : She has been called the Lux Super Model, the bystander who does nothing, the girl who can run like the wind, its... Yamini! Yamini [whose last name is missing] portrays Vandita Deshmukh, and finally this past fortnight has been able to do something. For what seems to be the first time she has been allowed to do something, she has done very well. Her now nice interactions with Archana have been done well; Yamini acts very naturally around all of the family members and makes her character rather believable. The looks of terror on her face around Ajit have been excellent without being overdone or evoking fits of laughter. Yamini even got to do some stunts this week, from the underwater scene to the attempted rape scene, and all were portrayed very well. Yamini should joing a Cross Country team, because she can RUN! Overall, this past fortnight Yamini showed us that she is an actress (and a pretty good one at that) along with an amazing runner, thus she is the Star Actor of the Fortnight Female

ArMan Sequence of the Fortnight

Even though we had ArMan onscreen quite a bit this fortnight, we didn't really have too many "ArMan" scenes. But we did have one innocent, gentle scene between them, and it was the one at Holi. I personally thought the scene between ArMan applying rang on each other was so beautiful. And it was beautiful not because it was loud or flamboyant, but because it was such a modest, unpretentious scene between the two! In that small, slight moment, you could see the undeniable love between them ' you can tell from the way they look at each other, smiling through their eyes, leaning in towards each other ' it was just picture perfect. And they do say, you can find love even in the smallest of moments.

Best Family Scene of the Fortnight

Well we have not had many but we did have some scenes .... but the one that stands out for me would be the karanjkars ... the scene we had when Sul aai was explaining to punni what Gudhi Pawda (i hope i spelt that right) is and then the how vershu was teasing vaishu about eating the sour leaf ... hehe ...

Mr. and Ms. Head Turner [Style Icon] of the Fortnight

Mr. Head Turner - This week we saw Manav getting new shirts, first one being red checks shirt and another one is yellow T-shirt which he wore on ME,and in which he was looking cute,he even charmed us in his Red Kurta which he wore during Vandu's college function. Even Satish, baba, kaka, Vinod all looked good in kurta, but it's our Manav who has emerged as Style Icon.

Ms. Head Turner - Even Archu got new sarees this time,and she was looking very pretty whether it was red with green border saree or the yellow with red border saree which Manav bought for her.Here in Karanjakars all were dressed nicely in bordered Maharastrian sarees,But Vaishali, Varsha and Vandu looked very pretty in their sarees. But thing which is being repetitive in PR is Yellow with red border saree,and this time we saw both Archana and Sulochana wearing during Gudi Padwa.Hope we get to see them choosing different color.This time its difficult to choose among women for style icon,but I think Archu wins as she looks very pretty in sarees and that to with less make up.

World of Archana and Manav

"Once upon a night'"

Checking the front door for the tenth time, Archana let out a depressed sigh as she saw no one. "Where the hell is he? I ordered the pizza 40 minutes ago and he's still not here!" Thinking about how careless people have become, she started muttering to herself. "I better get that pizza for free or the delivery person has Archana's wrath to suffer." Chuckling at herself for that last comment, she walked back in to call the pizza company.

It was not her day. It was as though Murphy's Law was put into full force, for nothing went wrong for the birthday girl. Starting off in the morning when she walked into class without knowing that there was a surprise test but luckily she had known the lesson. Then her parents' flight got canceled, so they wouldn't be arriving for another day. To top it all off, Manav had forgotten her birthday and when she had called to remind him about the dinner, he rudely cut the call for a stupid cricket match.

"Stupid IPL" she thought. "Some birthday this is. I can't believe he forgot He's my fianc, Manav's supposed to remember the day." It was late evening and she was sitting in the living room flipping through channels. Annoyed by the fact that nothing was on, she pulled her I-Pod out and started humming to the first song when the bell rang.

-Knock knock-

Muttering angrily about not paying for the delivery and what-not she opened the door to see a person holding a box. "Delivery madam" He looked familiar, but Archana couldn't tell because the guy was wearing a cap with his head bent. "Yea'just put it on the table and don't expect any money from me because I'm not paying for a pizza that's 30 minutes late." Archana was so lost in her own world that she didn't notice the person close the door. *Thud* "What the'stay here, I'll be right back" Surprised by the sudden sound in her room, she ran upstairs to see what it was.

However, she stood at her spot as she saw her room. There was balloons everywhere; pink, yellow, red, etc. There was a new picture above her bed, it held a certain memory; a special one. It was the day he had proposed to her, at their family dinner. Archana had been waiting to get it framed, but could never find the right time. The most surprising thing though was the fact that her parents were sitting at her computer table. "Happy Birthday beta" They both said in unison and walked up to hug her.

Just as they hugged her, the lights in the room went off and a sole light appeared at the door. Her eyes found the person holding the cake; that held the candle, the light. "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Archana, happy birthday to you." It was Manav, dressed as the delivery person.

Walking up to her, he signaled her to sit down so she could cut. "Did you really think I would forget your birthday?" Chuckling as he saw her pouting face, he left a small kiss on her cheek and placed the cake on the table. "Make a wish and blow" with that said, she closed her eyes and thanked god for the people in her life, and blew the candle.

Guess her birthday wasn't so bad after all.

This was quite an interesting fortnight and phew, a LOT happened, but it wasn't anything we haven't seen before. At this point, it is only fair to expect the Creatives to show us something fresh and new and try something more, well, creative! Personally, I think the whole Vandita-rape track could have been easily avoided. The creatives could have really thought up another track, but SIGH, we'll deal with what we've got! I think the track between Bhavana and Varsha is definitely heading in the right direction, so the Creative team gets plus points there. This fortnight, even though we saw a lot of Manav and Archana, we were really deprived of some substantial "ArMan" scenes. Also, we had a TON of revenge from Ajit's side, and we could have totally done without that much!

Overall, this was a happening fortnight, but we do expect better from the creatives, so keep your best working coming team ' we're looking forward to it.

Ratings - 3.5/5 - because well, this week wasn't all together terrible, but there is scope for much better.

Expectations for next Fortnight

In continuation of our set pattern, the last fortnight actually was dhamakedaar (!), so we should probably be expecting some rona-dhona filled episodes this fortnight.

Now to the khabroos: The best source, a promo straight from Zee TV (which makes a new rishta every moment, by the way), straightfowardly tells that Vandita has married Ajit of her "own will" whilst Manav looks on helplessly. The next source, an article, also tells of the happenings in the promo along with a condition from Rasika to Vandita, that she must slap Manav and Archana. Vandita, according to the article, will do so with her sweet vahini Archana, who thus far has treated her like her own younger sister, but won't be able to slap her dearest dada Manav. The article also tells that a love story will be starting for Vaishali soon. The Saas Bahu aur Something shows remain mum thus far on any of these issues.

This leaves us with a lot to ponder. What is going to happen in the Ajit-Vandita marriage scenario, how will it play out, what will be its effects? What will be their cute little name: AjiTa, VanJit, AjVan, VanAj, or something else? How much more pain will Archana and Manav suffer? Will Manav continue to become closer to Archana, while distancing himself from Shravani? Will Shravani continue with her possessive and jealous actions around Archana and Manav? What will Savita and Damodar's reactions be? What drama will happen with Manjusha and the Karanjkar household? Will Varsha and Satish's wedding progress and finally happen? Or will the truth about Aswhin come out at some point? What is Satish's last name? I think I will lay off of Shravani this fortnight as last fortnight she came out with a new expression: jealousy. I think I'll let her slide this time.

As always, expect the unexpected on Pavitra Rishta.

Interview of the Fortnight

1. When have you started to watch PR?

We have watched Pavitra Rishta from the very first episode! Having watched Sushant as Preet in KDMHMD, the moment we heard that he was playing the lead in PR, there was no doubt that this show was going to be on our watching list, but haila, if only we knew what we were getting ourselves into. We couldnt have possible imagined how madly in love we'd be with this couple and this show (although we have had our share of ups and downs) :D

2. What was your favorite track of the show?

Uff, such a tough question (racking our brains for the best answer) -- I think the best phase of this show was the initial track with Manav first seeing Archana, and then his developing feelings for her. We personally loved the scene when Manav sees Archana for the first time, or rather her eyes. THe fact that he just saw her eyes, kind and beautiful, and instantly fell in love with her. We just really loved every moment of Manav falling in love with Archana, and gosh, the way he always looked at Archana -- that soft gaze filled with love. Also, the track after their marriage, when Archana goes to live in the Deshmukh house, was quite beautiful. Manav and Archana's relationship was so unadultered, so pure, and so innocent and I think thats what got us all hooked. Gosh, we can go on forever, but one of the most recent tracks that is so lovely is that of budding love between Satish and Varsha. They are such a cute jodi, and we all have so many expectations for that track! (phew, we're done now)

3. What do you want from the PR Forum Member Awards?

Yikes, I think we're a little late, but the Awards were nothing less than we expected! Tas, aarti, and sid -- you guys did a FABULOUS job with organizing the awards. The red carpet was a blast to go through, and the awards were even better! Congratulations to all the winners- you guys deserved it :D The PR Forum Member Awards was the best of its kind we have seen! Bravo Bravo! Great job guys!!

4. If you could be any character in PR, who would it be and why?

Ahem, well...who do you think we'd want to be!!? Ofcourse Archana, so we can have Manav all to ourselves! muhaha! ohkay ohkay, kaan pakadke maafi mangoing for the besharmi, but on a more "serious" note, we'd love to be Varsha. Varsha is a free-thinking woman who speaks her mind, and TAUBA, with a saas like Savita, that is exactly the quality you need. I would love to just be able to speak my mind, and stand up for what I believe in no matter what. I think so far, Varsha's character has been consistent with her initial character sketch in which she has always been able to state her mind, be-jijak :)

5. What is your nickname and why? Do you like it?

Yikess!! Do we have to answer this, kyunki this is an easy give-away! (giggle) Well, our nickname is "AnnJan" and its because we're twins, and the name includes the first three letters of both our names! And yes, we do like it, because it gives us a sense of "apnapan" with anyone who calls us by that name :) (hailaa, shankar, yeh sawaal nahi poochna tha hehe).

6. What are your Top 5 Tellywood Villains and Main Characters?

oiii, this one is tough!umm, Main Characters first(in no particular order) - I think one of the most intense characters on T.V of all time was Prem Juneja (KDMHMD), so he is definitely a favorite! Preet Juneja i think was the best character sketch to ever come out from a Balaji soap, he was such a masti-khor, but also such a sweetheart! goodness, i see an affiliation with "P" all of a sudden... because we have another Prem on the list! (giggle) We think Prem from Kasauti was also a brilliant character, very passionate and quite intense too. And lets not forget Manav -- The reason I like his character so much (although his character has had some high and low points) is because he is so innocent, and theres this raw, unpolished feel to him that is so relatable! Phew, after all the guys, I think our favorite female Character was Gauri from Karam Apna Apna - no doubt :D

And Villains -- I dont think there is or has ever been a villian as intriguing or as fascinating as SAVITA!!!! she is definitely our favorite villian because try as you may, you just cannot hate her completely. We could list a bunch of villians, but Savita would be top on the list (giggle). She is quite evil, but she also has a good side, which makes her hard to dislike :)
