I agree with you all about Mahi being hurt. It is an awful time for her and she needs time to recover fully.

But I just don't get the logic behind blaming herself. If the relationship was working out but ended at another note, I would've understood her blaming herself. But this time we can clearly see that Ishan just used her. He was only playing with her emotions. Then why is she blaming herself for it? Why can't she just hate Ishan for being such a jerk?

Because Mahi's very emotionally driven, she succumbs to feelings so easily that it's actually quite amazing. She's also very self concious, what others think matters a lot to her. When have we ever seen Mahi going through something alone? She's always needs a push from Sid/Roshni/Daddy Aloo/Dadi/the gay tenants etc. She used to the world telling her that she doesn't fit in and inwardly she believes it as well therefore she's used to blaming herself first rather then pointing fingers at the real culprits. It's something we call the Labelling Theory and the Self Fulfilling Prophecy in the psychology world.
And that's also the only reason Mahi gives such awesome replies in her column but fails to action it herself - her readers have no idea who Mahi really is. They have no idea how she looks, they have no idea what poeple really think about her hence why she's much more confident.

i agree with Jenifer, and just wanted to add that its sort of natural to come out of a bad relationship and to blame yourself for its failure for a very long time. ofcourse things change with rettrospection but that requires time and with time comes healing. plus i suppose everyones really anxious for her to forget everything that happened with Ishan and to move on with Shiv lol...but that is also going to take time unless everyone wants it to be rebound, and we all know how THAT works.

I dont know...

haha its just that the relationship didnt work out and Mahi is finding faults in herself that could have driven him away. People generally do blame themselves after a break-up. Whether its a guy or a girl.

Its kinda like "i should have done this...i shouldn't have done this. If i was like this...or if i was like that...or if i was different, the relationship would have worked" etc.

It's always easier to be an outsider and give advice but when you're in the same shoes as the person you once gave advice to, you realize how hard it is to follow advice.

Ishaan is obviously the one to blame and the day Mahi realizes this she will be over him but its never easy to forget your first love.

This show handles the characters and their problems with so much maturity and honesty. I hope they don't change that!

looking forward to see mahi grow in her confidence and faith in her self.

Mahi for me is totally to be blamed!!!! She put herself out there to be used by Ishan so hell as if he wouldnt use her and throw her out, hello ladies! So if she wants to cry it out let her more power to her. However to blame Ishan and say how could he,( I dont think Ishan feels he did anything wrong thats his out look on life, i dont think calling him names putting blame on him is worth it. The fickle world he's in doesnt suffer fools gladly).
However, i hope Mahi moves forward and realizes that Ishan may have glittered but he defintely wasnt the pot of gold she was hoping for. I just want to see her become the strong younge women she is, the way she handles her mom is the way she should start handling her life.
