SRGMP Vs INDIAN IDOL

Today, I watched SRGMP and Ind Idol 2. I found one thing common in both programmes, that is public voting recking havoc on talented singers. I dont know the philosophy behind public voting but only logic I can think of about this trend is, HMV, and Sony want public to chose there favorite as these companies will be signing contracts with the winners and if winner is by public choice then these companies can sell there product easily.

Qualitywise SRGMP is wayyyyyyy ahead of II, but votingwise II is much cleaner. They don't get into any controversies.

Yes, Sony and ZEE are allowing the public to create the market for them. Very intelligent marketing strategy!

Ya, I agree. Quality of singing of SRGMP is much much better and quality of performance of Indian Idol is much better! I think II is for the pop culture and SRGMP is for the play back culture... Its very sad when either tries to be like the other !!!

Voting is also very clean in II and even fight between the judges look natural, none of the judges hype any of the contestants.. and there isn't much told about their personal lives unless its VERY tragic!

And it is interesting to note that the best singer (according to me atleast) in II 2 happens to be an ex SRGMP contestant !!
