Mannn DID is getting sooo boring and dissapointing these days. I miss season 1. :(
Amar and Shakti's performance was so weird. I could not understand what the heck they were doing AT ALL!! Maybe I don't understand the dance form, or because I haven't watched Avataar the movie or something, but I totally could not make head or tail to this performance!!
Dharmesh and Kishore: Seriously??? A total copy of DPL?? That's the level DID has come to?? To copy other shows? Mann this dance was nothing compared to Mini's dance in DPL finale. That was just AWESOME! Nothing khass of a performance at all!
Jack and Shakti: SOOOO dissapointing!! Maybe cuz I'm a bhangra dancer myself so I was really critical, but mannn last season was SOOO much better! I don't think the contestants last year screwed up as much as this year....I don't know what's going on. :S Anyways, the whole shoulder lift thing getting messed up was soo not my issue with the dance. The whole energy was lacking. It was not in sync which is SOOOO important for bhangra. I was sooo excited for this dance, because I was like FINALLY yayy bhangra, but noo it was majorly dissapointing. And the choreography was really good, it's not that. Just the execution was really bad. The attitude, energy, hand movements, everything was completely wrong for bhangra. I don't mind contestants messing up, as long as I still enjoy the performance and I get the feel, or attitude whatever, but this was just MAJORLYYY dissapointing!
Punit and Saajan: Didn't like it. Both Saajan and Dharmesh need to leave, like NOW!!
Ok so now for the performances I did like. Binny and Amrita's and Punit and Nikitasha's.
I think my favourite act today was Punit and Nikitasha's. Nikitasha was AMAZING!! I loved this dance! It was clear, understandable and enjoyable. This act has to be my fav. 'story telling' type acts by Remo. The previous of these kinds I just found either not enough dance, or the dance not clear enough. But this one was really good esp. Nikitasha.
And Binny and Amrita's was good too except I didn't think it was thatttt good deserving a 'double grand salute' or whatever. Anyways, again Amrita had more to do and outshined Binny. I also thought the kathak part could've been wayyy better. Remember Vrushali's kathak dance from last year? On salaame ishq and kahe ched? It was soo graceful, and I was just thinking that that's what kathak is supposed to be like. The kathak part looked too much like the other classical dances, I couldn't really tell all the dances apart. So the whole performance kind of didn't attain it's goal for me. That is, the goal of showing people 5 different classical forms because they all looked the same to me. And that's not because I'm untrained in these dance forms because the difference between kathak and bharatnatyam for example is really obvious since these two dances are just SOO different.
Bottom 3 for me would be: Dharmesh, Saajan, and Kishore
Top 3 for me would be: Kunwar for sure!, Punit and either Amrita or Shakti. I have the same problem with both of these girls. It's their expressions. They just don't feel natural to me, they feel forced. They're both awesomely trained and amazing dancers but I just think they can be more natural with their expressions. And to me the expressions are just as important as technical movements since dance is an art, not an exercise or movement so the feeling is very important.
But after Kruti, Vandana, and Parvez I'm just not really getting attached to any contestant this season. :(
