Well i never cared if they don't like rani. But when some people start to bring her down, abuser her character then it gets to me. Media knows if they write something bad about Shilpa, and Preity they will shout back at them but rani, she won't say anything.

Maybe I am wrong, but of all the articles I can remember reading about her, I have not seen many of them peaking against her personally, or even calling her talentless or the sort. It is usually her choice of films that the media is after.
Of course, harping on Rani is easier, as she keeps quite unless she can't take it anymore. For instance, people won't even dare saying anything against Kajol on that matter, as she may start firing everyone up.

EDIT: Moreover, it's not as if the people who writes/speaks against her dislike/hate her or wishes ill for her. Even I have criticized and still criticize Rani on more than a few occasions, but that does not mean I don't like her.

She refused quiet movies, including Namesake which Tabu did a brilliant job. We don't know how many other movies she refused. She shouldn't waste her talent on dancing around the trees movies.

God knows how many other movies she refused, as those are few of the ones that the media had been able to report. Like we did not know Kareena was offered Fashion / Page Three until now.

I don't see anything wrong with dancing around the trees as she looks stunning on those roles. But along with these, she needs to do serious films as well.

Dancing around the trees gets boring if you are just repeating. If the role isn't growing you as an actor then you need to wake up and do more daring roles. I loved her in KKHH, Hum Tum, TRRP, Chalte Chalte, Black,Ghulaam and even Laga chunri mei Daag. She was growing with each movie. But some of her movies made me think WTH?? Where she plays an angel. I think she was quiet good in her debut movie. But she needs to do some daring roles, outside of YRF because YRF only gives her really silly roles post Hum Tum. Hope she do good in future.

I find it odd that media feels the need to say Rani is out of work. How come they dont say the same about Preity or Shilpa or Urmila. I may be mistaken but I dont think they have any movie in their kitty. So why only label her as oow.

Most of the movies she refused had her playing older women roles that she may be uncomfortable playing especially since in Bollywood age is a sensitive issue. Do you honestly think that if she had played that role in namesake, she'd get roles opposite Saif or SRK. They'd have already slotted her for mother roles.

I also blame the directors who would rather stick to safe actresses(even if mediocre) who spell BO success than a talented actress who may or may not be a success.
