Out of work Rani reads fan mail to cheer up

On the shoot of Karan Johar's show, Lift Kara De, Rani Mukherji was the only celebrity who showed how humble she is. She had got along a bowl of kheer that was cooked by her mother Krishna Mukherji, unlike the other stars who came earlier. She didn't just bring the kheer, she even fed it to her fan personally on the sets of the show. The actress expressed that her fans meant a lot to her. She admitted that each time she feels low; she reads her fan mail, which always cheers her up. She also revealed that it was a great moment for her when she received a letter of appreciation from Dilip Kumar, who happens to be one of her favorite actors, for her performance in Black.

The last I saw she was working in a movie called "No one killed Jessica"! Why is everyone so keen on writing an actress off? Fine she is not a PC or a Kareena right now...so? It;s part of an actress life cycle...tomorrow PC and Kareena will not be where they are today.

thanxx n i hate the title of the article. its soo sad that an actress like rani who has given so many amazing performances in the past decade gets written off like that. n she isnt even out of work

And when she was at the top - Kareena and Priyanka were no where near her. As you said - it's a cycle. Tomorrow , some other actresses will take the stop of PC and Kareena (God forbids though, I just pray those 'talented wondes' don't turn out to be Kat or Deepika). That's how it goes on.

^Exactly! Kareena and PC were nowhere when Rani was at top. I think after a while the rat race should cease to matter to actors...you have made enough money, you have had your share of crazy fans....it's time to do some quality work! Rani though has already done some quality work but there is a lot more for her to do....especially in movies that has scope for her to do something other than shake her booties! I hope she is not getting bogged down by these silly articles.

I am so tired media stating Rani is jobless. She is one talented actress. I loved her in all of her movie, even though it bombed at the BO!

^ The fault lies with Rani. She had been offered more than enough quality works, but she is refusing most of it. Like Bella's remake of Charulata, the film of sperm donation that she had refused and is now being done by Nandita Das...etc. It's time she tries her hand at some parallel cinema or at least cinemas with serious concepts - like Yuva, Hey Ram, etc. She was so good in those films. But her best performance is Veer-Zaara, IMHO. She was outstanding there.

Probably I'm biased - but based on her talent, I have the feeling that she could remain at the top if she wanted and worked on her career wisely, like she did at the beginning.

She refused quiet movies, including Namesake which Tabu did a brilliant job. We don't know how many other movies she refused. She shouldn't waste her talent on dancing around the trees movies.

The only reason why the media pokes their noses so much into Rani's personal and professional life is because Rani is irresistible, and even the media can't get enough of her. 😆 Kidding. But seriously though, you don't see the media getting het up over Kim Sharma or Tanusri Dutt, or maybe even Shilpa Shetty, do you. Even Preity Zinta, who came to fame alongside Rani Mukherjee is not as much bothered by the media, or her fans on that case, possibly because people have accepted her downfall, as they have once rejoiced her stardom. Yes she is talented, and immensely, and that is probably the reason why she has to pay such a heavy price for her downfall, because her talent is not being utilized properly - and that is what the media, the audiences, her fans, her admirers and her critics are not being able to digest. She had not been able to give a single commercially successful film over the past three years, and yet, she is there in the limelight - along with actresses like Kareena or Priyanka who are the hot properties of Bollywood today.

So, based on that, I could care the least as to what the media does or says about her, as it reflects positively about her talent (even if it reflects negatively about her the person - which is not completely false, so I am not so much bothered by it). Because, in some way or the other, I feel the same way - even as a fan of hers.

Well i never cared if they don't like rani. But when some people start to bring her down, abuser her character then it gets to me. Media knows if they write something bad about Shilpa, and Preity they will shout back at them but rani, she won't say anything.
