In the final segment today, after Sudha had left, Poonam asked Jyoti a number of things about this family, like why don't people keep each other in the loop, how did Jyoti disappear yesterday all of a sudden for her divorce hearings, how everybody was worried since she switched off the phone (okay, there Jyoti was justified as long as she was in court). She also asks Jyoti why she didn't contest the charges of being 'characterless' (I guess one rebuttal of that would be that Jyoti is not characterless, au contraire, she is quite a character), instead of meekly signing those divorce papers?

The entire family, including Jyoti, stares @ Poonam as though she is a rabid dog, but she continues, and asks whether those allegations were true? She asks whether Jyoti had any sense of the controversy that she and others in the house would have to face. She asks Jyoti what will she tell her friends when they ask her about these allegations? While she could say that they are lies, the fact that Jyoti chose not to contest them in court makes it look like she conceded that they are true. She asks her what evidence is there to demonstrate otherwise, given what she's allowed to pass?

So are Poonam's questions justified? Does she voice your observations about Jyoti & the Sharmas, or is she just being her usual tactless self? More importantly, do you consider the reaction of her entire sasural to her questions (in terms of body language) justified?

Exit question: contrary to his promise to her, does Deepu seem to be a lousy hubby?

NO WAY!! lol
Well she is right to question things like why didn't Jyoti think of her own family first and how her actions could have a bad impact on the rest of the Sharmas. But she could also have done this in private, instead of literally jumping out of her seat and running in front of KK in the loudest possible voice!! I mean she's the bahu!!! Jyoti and Sudha never spoke OUT LOUD like that at the Vashists...then why can't Poonam learn to behave properly as well?!
Just last Friday she called Jyoti the sawteli behen in the same manner in the same room, but got away with it. As a result she's pointing her finger again at Jyoti!!
Until now whatever Jyoti has done, has never badly affected the Sharmas, and she has done tonnes of favours to them, both when living with them and when away as Pankaj's wife. And in return, what have the Sharmas done for her? Errm nothing major that I can remember. So if the Sharmas want to do something for Jyoti, this is the time, they need to forgive and forget her mistake and MOVE ON (incl. Princess Poonam)!!
....And she really is a moron!! 😆😆

I agree that she should have done this in private, maybe one on one w/ Jyoti. But aside from that, I agree w/ just about everything she said in that conversation.

And what Jyoti did for the Sharmas is totally tangential to what she's entitled to do. I actually hold it against Jyoti for chasing that loser sawteli sister of hers Sushma for the better part of the year. If Jyoti's marriage is now a thing of the past, she is why!

And Jyoti's acts not negatively affecting the Sharma's? What else do you call all those rishtas of Deepu coming undone once word is out that Jyoti's been expelled from her sasural? Or nosy neighbors of the Sharmas coming and asking them about it? Yeah, Jyoti was worst affected as a result of being denied all those jobs that she was otherwise well qualified for, but that doesn't excuse her judgement that she showed throughout these episodes.

By doing what she did in the courtroom, she put the interests of Pankaj & Bhairavi above not just her own, but her own family, including Poonam. As I see it, Poonam has every right to complain, particularly since the beneficiaries of this act aren't well wishers of her sasural.

Vrisha,
What I meant was that this is the only major, stupid/bad, negative thing she's done in her life, of keeping a secret away from her hubby (n not telling her family that she's heading to court for divorce) which is now creating problems for her own family, the Sharmas, but ofcourse this only fault of hers is affecting them in various ways, like disrespectful neighbours and Deepu's rishta probs, as u mentioned.
The other bad decision of her life was to date a jerk like Brij 😆 which impacted Sushma, and indirectly but not majorly other members of the Sharma family.

Oh, I don't blame her for dating Brij - I blame Sushma for betraying her. I'll bet that none of us would dream of dating the guy/gal our respective sibling was going out w/ (even if we were teens), and if such an offer came our way, we'd tell our sibling that that person is bad news, and to lose him. Sushma didn't, which reflects badly on her.

Everybody is speking about Poonam and Jyoti and what about Deepu I think he is a lousy husband who can not keep his stupid wife under control.Normally its a husband job to make his wife understand his family members. He is a lousy brother who can not stop his arrogant wife from disrespecting his so called beloved sister.I think editor will agree to fire Jyoti from the job because Bhairavi will offer him some money.

Okay, so how did that part play out when they picked up today? We all saw everybody, including her dear saas Padma gaping when Poonam asked Jyoti those questions that would occur to anybody - everybody looked like they were on the verge of kicking Poonam out again. So did it have a tame ending, like many of these anti-climactic climaxes, or did Poonam get the 3rd degree from Dadi & Deepu?

I agree w/ abhidip about Deepu - after so many fiascos involving his dulhan, he still hasn't given her a pep talk on what's okay and what's not in their family? It's not so much about keeping her under control, so much as getting her on the same page as the rest of the family, while still providing them a good sounding board on how their decisions, particularly their stupid ones, look like to the world outside Kamal Nivas (copyright Devika)

I agree with Poonam.. this what society asks.. being a divorcee in Indian society is not easy.. on top of it she is pregnant.. she should hv thought about the Baby..

can someone sign papers saying she is separated from her husband since past one year and still claim she is 2 month pregnant with her husband.. be practical guys.. I know we all love Jyoti but the decisions she takes SUCKS big time..
