New Delhi: A city court today allowed Rahul Mahajan, son of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan and an accused in a drug abuse case to go Maldives for honeymoon with his newly wedded wife.
Mahajan got married to 21-year-old Dimpy Ganguly, a model and dancer, during the TV reality show 'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega'. He has moved an application before Additional Sessions Judge J P S Malik seeking release of his passport to visit the Maldives from March 9 to 30.
He has been accused of consuming and distributing drugs at the official residence of his father on the night of June 2, 2006 and was arrested on June 5, 2006.
Mahajan, along with his late father's secretary Vivek Moitra were admitted to Apollo hospital in the early hours of June 2, 2006 after allegedly consuming contraband drugs. Moitra later died in the hospital.
