Just leave me alone.. JUST GO !!!" she yelled out in really high pitch. "I was just trying to.." "JUST GO !!!" she cut me short before i could complete and turned around with her back towards me.
Ok! She wants me to leave her alone.. Hmph!
As she wishes...
I kicked the door open and left from there without any other word.

CHAPTER 9
"hello?"
"hi mayank"
"hey sneha, how are you?"
"i am good. Yr tu to aaj kal dikhta hi nahi. Itna busy hota hai?"
"Tujhe ankit ke siva koi aur dikhta hi nahi to main kya karu? Achha
yr.. Tell me one thing. Ye nupur ko kya hua hai? Jab se morena se
wapis aaye hain kuch ajeeb-ajeeb behave kar rahi hai. Na meri call
utha rahi hai na back call kar rahi hai, wapis aate hue bhi poore
raaste chup baithi thi. You must be knowing na?"
"yr sach btaun, even i felt the same thing. She hadn't talked to me
since you all came back from morena. I thought i'll ask you about it
but here you're yourself unaware of the reason. I'll try asking her
out"
"hmmm.. Ya do ask her and let me know too. And how is everything else?"
"good. Yr someone is at the door, might be nupur. Ok bye"
"bye. Take care"

Strange! I thought sneha must be knowing the reason of nupur's behaviour. But...
Yes! I'll ask her tomorrow in office, maybe she is worried about
bauji's health. Hmmm.. I'll talk to her tomorrow.

I walked into my cabin, nupur sat there dug into her laptop's screen.
"why didn't you waited for me? I went to your place to pick you up but
sneha told that you already left without telling anything"
I looked at her intendly but no reply came. She didn't even looked
back at me, like i am someone invisible.
Phew!! i think i need to get used to this 'no reply mode' of nupur.
I know she might be scared for her bauji's health, but this is not the
way to react. She had talked to the doctor and he has told her the
whole therapy strategy, doctor has even said that bauji's cancer can
be curbed easily. Then why is she so tensed or rather not responding.
What is bothering her so much? I never felt so helpless ever before.
Most difficult thing to do is understand a girl.
What does she says? Yes.. BY GOD!
I guess leaving her alone right now will be the best help i can do.
Let her explore her innerself and conquer her worries... Hmmm.. That
will be fine...?
?I took my notepad and went through the task list to be completed
today. Yeah! I need discuss about this article with photography team.
I left the cabin after glancing at nupur who didn't even seem to
notice that i entered or i was about to leave.
I wish she gets out of this as soon as possible...

Oh man! Its 9 pm now. Whole day had passed without a word from her.
Its hurting so much. Its unbearable to see a bubbly girl like her to
sit so quiet, like a dead piece of mass. I need to get her talking.
"Nupur... Did you had lunch?" she didn't replied as usual but i could
make out from her face that she didn't. Why is she doing this to her?
This won't help in her father's health!!
I walked up to her and stood beside her. I don't know how to deal in
such situations but still i'll try...
I took a deep breath and gathered my guts to finally talk to her.
"Nupur... Please say something... ?

?Even though i couldn't see her face but still i knew that she was
crying at that moment, i could feel tears dwelling out of her eyes.
I felt so smashed with the unexpected reaction.
She thought my care to be my pity!
Is that all she understood me in these months?
Ok! She wants me to leave her alone.. Hmph!
As she wishes...
I kicked the door open and left from there without any other word.

Why? Why did all this happened to me? Why only me?
Was my destiny written with a pen of sorrow and hardships?
Firstly mom left me when i was not even of 1 year and now this?
My bauji is suffering from oral cancer! Is that what my bauji deserve
for a life full of hardwork??
And to add up to my problems bui has found a so-called perfect match
for me! Rajat kapoor! Who the hell is rajat kapoor? I never met him, i
never saw him. How can i marry a person who is total unknown to me?
How can bui think of getting me married to a NRI? I don't want to get
married. ?
?I want to concentrate on my career and bauji's treatment right now.
What is the guarantee that mr. Rajat will let me pursue my career even
after marriage? That he won't have any problem from my late working
hours? What is the guarantee that i'll fall in love with that NRI?
God! Why are you doing this to me? Why?
But then what about my bauji's dream? I have to fulfill that too. I
can't let him down.
Does that mean i have to give my dream of marrying my 'sapno ka
rajkumar'? Does that mean that my dream romance of won't ever come
true? ?

?No nupur, this is not the time to be selfish. You have to fulfill
your father's dream even if you have to kill your's to do it.
What if bauji left me forever?
There will be noone whom i can call only mine. Noone to stand beside
me whenever i am in need. The who'll always...
Wait! What??
'i am always there for you'- the words echoed in my ears and jerked me
back into reality.
I shouted at him! The only one person who held me in my bad time, who
travelled hundred miles to get my bauji treated well!
Was that just pity? His eyes... His eyes were having much more than
just sympathy.
'Oh... Why do i always end up hurting everyone who cares for me? Why?
I just yelled on him like he is responsible for everything. Its none
of his fault that my destiny isn't on my side. I have hurt him when he
was trying to help me.
I am horrible! I am bad! The most ungrateful person in the world!
How could i be so insensitive??
?I hurt him! I hurt him! He cared for me.. And i returned my
gratitude by yelling!!!!!!'

Nupur sat on the floor with her legs pulled close to her body and her
arms wrapped around her knees tightly.
She was trembling as tears fell from her eyes non-stop. She buried her
face in her knees.
Her head was bursting out with pain and heart overflowing with
emotions 'i have lost everything, everyone... Why do always end up
repenting? Why did i let him go? I should have stopped him'
She had no idea how much time she passed sitting this way and crying
continuously. All she new was that she had hurt him, so deeply that he
didn't even cared to look back at her.
In all this fear and numbness, she felt a gentle touch on her neck.
Her eyes flew open and filled with joy on seeing him sitting beside her.
He too had tears in his eyes.
Without any second thought she flung into his arms holding him
tightly, never to let go. Tears from her eyes landed on his shirt.?
?"i am sorry... I am really sorry... I am so ungrateful, i am the
worst creature in the world.." her voice muffled against his chest.
"ssshhh! Don't say anything.. You don't need to say anything"
"but mayank.."
"ssshhh!!" he silenced her, putting his arms tightly around her.
He buried his face in her nape, his hands holding her her tightly in
his embrace.
They both clung to eachother like its the life-support system for a
dying person.
Their longings were much visible in the way they held eachother.
The moment they shared was enough to define the feeling of reunion
after separation...
The count of time spent was lost. Neither they bothered nor they paid
attention to it.
"nupur.." mayank took the initiative to break the long prevailed silence.
"hmmm.." nupur replied unconsciously. Being in his arms made her feel
light at heart. Every pain faded away as her heart beated against his.
Her heart, mind and soul were at peace. Now she had got all the
answers.. She wanted the moment to last forever.?
?Mayank caressed her hair lovingly and breathed in her ear "c'mon lets go.."
She nodded in a NO. She didn't wanted to go anywhere, she had found
her heaven.. In his arms.
Mayank sighed and placed a kiss on her hair. He held her from her
shoulder and pulled back, tears were still spoiling her beautiful
face.
He raised his hand and wiped the tear-drop that clung to her eye-lash.
She smiled slightly and held his hand.

Back in the car, silence took over for the strange feelings that both
of them were going through. Eyes did the task of communication.
Mayank suddenly stopped the car on roadside and got out. He reached
her side and held open the door.
"but mayank..."
"ssshhh.. No questions, just come with me"
He reached for her hand led the way. Nupur seemed to recognise the
place now. Yes! The same place where they had spent the first day of
their friendship.. The marina drive side.
Her eyes flew to mayank in amazement.?
'he is so sweet..' a soft smile crept on her lips with this thought.
She quietly followed the way he led.
They reached the sea-shore and sat on the sand. His hand was busy
caressing her fingers. He rubbed his palm on her's and slowly, gently
inserted his fingers between her's.
She looked at their entwined hands and curled her fingers around his.
He glanced at her glowing face, shy smile, lowered eyes and laid back
on the wet sand, pulling her along with him.
They both laid there with their eyes fixed on the black sky, hands
entwined and feet frequently touched by waves.
Mayank turned his face towards nupur. She was lost in her thoughts,
not aware of being stared by him. He noticed the tears twinkling in
her eyes.
"Nupur, what happened? Is there something bothering you?"
She was still lost in her world. He pressed her hand, she instantly
turned on her side and wrapped her arm around him and rested her head
on his shoulder. The tears that she was holding back in her eyes found
their path out.?
?"hey, what happened?" he grew tensed. He wrapped her in his arms
tightly. "You are hiding something from me.. Please tell me what is
it.."
"Mayank.. I am sorry.. I shouldn't have talked to you that way.. I am
really sorry" she managed to speak between her tears.
"Nupur please.. Don't be.. I can understand, the phase you're going
through is the most difficult time.. Please don't keep your sorrow
till you.. I don't want you to suffer alone, please tell me if
something is bothering you.."
She kept silent, her silence and eyes were making it sure for him that
something was there. Something that he didn't know. "You don't trust
me... Don't you?"
She raised her head to look into his eyes. "No, its not like that.. I
trust you, more than anyone else.. But..." she broke off. What could
she tell him? That her bui wants her to marry a unknown for the sake
of marrying!
"but..?" mayank questioned again?
?"mayank... Bauji.. I won't be able to live without him.. I have no
one other than him. He is my only.." tears didn't let her complete her
sentence.
"don't ever say this again! There are many people at your side.. Bui,
sneha... Me.." she looked up at him with a small smile
"And bauji is not going to leave you. Doctor said that he will surely
be fine. Don't worry"
"i wish he recovers soon"
"he will" mayank patted her head.
Nupur replied with a smile and again let her head rest on his strong
shoulder, her arm wrapped around his neck.
Rest of the time at beach was spent in silent conversations of
rhythmic heartbeats, warm breaths and entwined hands.
A bit good moments even in bad time, make a life worth living.

I loved the way Mayank consoled Nupur ...something which always goes missing in MJHT.....LOL
