it varies from person to person what would make them happy and some people will never find happiness and joy in this life. i think the most important thing is to be content with what we have and only when we are content can we be happy. then again there is also a saying that man can never be content and always wants more than we have. it is also true that mankind wants things that we haven't gotten or cannot have, however when we get it we are just like children who got a new toy and then forget about it in an instant and start craving for another thing.

I think it depends on people what can be called happiness...I think happiness is not so dependent on others, bt still it is separate from us.😊

Happiness is an emotion that is felt upon acquiring of an object which the mind desires.
Desires can not only be unlimited but it keeps changing and shifting.
Being a slave to our desires is imprisonment. so knowledge has to be acquired to free the soul. True freedom is true happiness.

well the problem is summerji, i don't think that a person will ever be able to achieve the free of desires in this world. just like for example, a person who converts to being a vegetarians or vegans will always have a cravings of meat such as beef and such and such. from time to time they will also eat a little portion of meat and broke their long fast of no meat commitment. even in history the great sages of the past who had abstained from worldly pleasures sometimes succumbed to the very thing that they are avoiding of. such as for example, maharaja pandu of hastinapura retreated to the forest with his wives and cast of worldly pleasures and treasures and abstained from sexual pleasure. yet, before his death his desires became so great that he had a sexual relationship with his wife that leads to his death and there are many other examples from history that we can refer to.

money buys a lot of things, but money alone does not make you happy and joyful. there are rich people in this world who have a lot of money and everything being served on the silver platter and still is not satisfied with their lives. there are also people with a lot of money who committed suicide instead.

Different things at different times makes mankind happy. There is no one sigle answer. I would tilt more towards humans never getting satisfied.
