I'll confess this is the only Hindi movie that I have been waiting for release and I tried to search the release date but I was unable to find anything. I also spent the past thirty minutes trying to look for the topic (created on this movie earlier) in this section and I had to give up due to lack of time, so I apologize for creating this topic.

Any idea when the movie will release? I really want to watch it! I love the simplicity and the tune!

Geet, where are you?

I know it's been shown at various film festivals like TIFF, but haven't seen it anywhere yet. Geet would know though.

I have heard April 2010, and also mid-summer 2010. Lots of conflicting reports but definitely not before April. I am really looking forward to it too.

That movie reminds me of Cinema Paradiso (A must see for everyone who loves original intense and emotional stories -- and who wants to know more about the story of cinema in europe - A classic!!!😭😭😭 so beautiful -----😊)- a story about the love for cinema, the love for life, the love of passion...

If that movie has been selected by the "Atelier of Cannes" -- it must be good - that's one festival I entirely trust about picking the best films all over the world....
Abhay Deol never disappoints me -- I mean till now...I love the guitar (musical background is excellent ) and I always like the road trip concept even if it's used over and over --- His co actress makes me me think of Vidya for some reason......

Since the other topic got closed. I had to pull this one. Sorry!

Is it releasing tomorrow? That's what I read on the net. I checked my local theater listings and I don't see it yet. So is it releasing only in India or worldwide?

To be specific for anyone reading I live in Mississauga, ON, Canada.

Abhay Deol Hindi Road movie review and rating

Tagged with: Reviews

Again with a sightly different concept, twisted moments, haphazardly mixed up scenes but in one word a different taste for Indian movie lovers – that's whats the speciality of Abhay Deol Road's movie and even all movies in which he acts.

Call him a Patriarch of Odd movies with his old number if you might have heard 1:40 ki last local, Dev D, Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Socha na Tha. The concepts and stories behind all these movies were out of typical Bollywood style movies. And again with all these mixed up stuffs, he is back with Road movie.

First have a look on Star Casts of this movie.
Cast: Abhay Deol, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Satish Kaushik, Mohammed Faizal
Director: Dev Benegal
Rating : **** star

Review- The lead role played by Abhay Deol as Vishnu, who is a restless young man, itches to escape his father's faltering hair oil business.

An old truck arrives, which Vishnu sees as his ticket to freedom. He offers to drive the antique Chevy across the desert to the sea, where it has been sold to a local museum. As he sets off across the harsh terrain, he discovers he's not merely transporting a battered vehicle but an old touring cinema.

Along the way, Vishnu reluctantly picks up a young runaway, a wandering old entertainer and a striking gypsy woman. Together they roam the barren land, searching for water and an elusive fair. The journey turns dire when they are waylaid by corrupt cops and a notorious water-lord.

The key to their freedom is the eccentric collection of films and the two forty-year-old film projectors in the back of the truck. As in 1001 Nights, if the films are good, they live and move on. If the films are boring, they face death in the outback.

The journey proves transformative for each of the travelers, but especially for Vishnu who discovers life, love and laughter on the Indian Road.

As per Joe Leydon, this movie is a modestly amusing dramedy that is all the more pleasant for its fleeting detours. After 3 idiots, this will be the first movie that is going to fully entertain you.

As per acting Abhay Deol is God, Direction by Dev benegal is flawless. This movie is not your regular candy floss mainstream flick, but its lightly hatke and that why this movie will hit you and hit you very hard. The only problem everybody faced after watching this movie was that it runs only 95 minutes. This lovely, wise, witty and soul stirring film has irrestible charm of becoming an art-house hit.

I feel she will end up just like them because Suhana really lacks the looks, glamour and talent! I mean she’s just NOT cut out for the glamour...
