Well it has to be Bradman, his test career average is simply unbelievable (99.96). Aur koi batsman unke aas paas bhi nahi tha.

Co-incidently Mr.Gary Sobers has this to say on this matter...

http://cricket.rediff.com/report/2010/mar/03/sunil-gavaskar-is-the-greatest-batsman-declares-sobers.htm

[quote]While the world is shouting that Sachin Tendulkar [ Images ] is the best batsman in the history of the game, there are some who feel the tag should go to Sunil Gavaskar [ Images ].

And among them is none other than the legendary Sir Garfield Sobers, who rates the diminutive former India opener as the best batsman he's seen play the game.

"Gavaskar rated the greatest because of the bowling attacks that he came up against. At that time West Indies [ Images ] had a fast bowling attack that was unplayable; they had bowlers who used to bowl out teams in three days. Gavaskar played against those bowlers and he made a lot of runs. People make always make a lot of runs in their own country, under their own conditions, but if you look at Gavaskar's record, he made a lot of runs away from India; he made a lot of runs in England [ Images ], a lot in the West Indies and Australia [ Images ].

"He certainly came up as an opening batsman against the best of attacks like [Michael] Holding, [Joel] Garner, [Colin] Croft; you call them and he played against them," Sobers said at a function, in Mumbai [ Images ] on Wednesday, to celebrate the 40th year of India's first Test series victory in the West Indies.[/quote]

I agree with his opinion that Gavaskar > Tendulkar

There is no one like Sunil Gavaskarāļø.....and he was a fearless batsman............he never wore a helmet...even when he was in front of the fast bowlers ...............there was this notorious fast bowler of W.Indies....Marshall.........the batsmen shook in there knees when they had to face him........but not gavaskar...........there were whispers that he was advised to wear a helmet atleast when facing Marshall....but Gavaskar being Gavaskar........never heeded to that advise and he put Marshall in his place.......batted fours and sixers and and made centuries...šŸ‘

I am not saying this to belittle Shachin in any way........I adore him.........he is our STARāļø...........but the younger generation doesn't know Gavaskar.........they have not seen him play.........thats why they don't know him....😊

Simply Don Bradman..There is no comparison..It's just a shame that Don's career was interrupted by WW-2..Otherwise God knows how many more records he would have made..
Maintaining an average of 99.94 is not a joke and he wasn't the one who was very keen for records..He could have averaged 100 if he had hit just 4 more runs but that shows what a selfless player he is!
Everything about that man was Fantastic!😊

And for all those who think Bradman played against Dollies then let me tell you..There were bowlers who bowled at 160ks those days(Larwood)..And facing them without protection is no joke and not only protection, even the boots those days were uncomfortable unlike the Candies which the Cricketers are getting now!
Don Bradman=Best!!

P.S:-Even Sachin himself said that he cannot be compared to Bradman.

Although,my personal favourite is Adam Gilchrist!
Gilly Gilly Bang Bang!He rocks!šŸ˜Ž
