So I've just thought of a perfect solution to all of Padma's money problems and issues with Jyoti.

She needs to get off her behind, and earn her own money.

Jyoti has a loan on her head taken for Deepu's wedding, but she wants a geezer in the house, no matter what, even if Jyoti has to sink deeper in debt.

Well Padma should start a tiffin service, where she makes and packs lunches for other people, or a daycare, where she looks after other's children, and earn a salary

Then she can buy her bahu whatever her heart desires.

People like Padma have no appreciation for money, because they've never earned it. Yes, she manages the money in the house, she knows what it's like to run out of money, but she has never worked hard to earn it.

So if you want a geezer, and and AC for your bahu, as well as gas in the car her father is giving, then get a job, and pay for it yourself.

Padma working is one solution, but another one struck me - Poonam working. We can see that Poonam is absolutely lacking in any domestic skills. So instead of keeping her @ home and asking her to do things that she can't, like cook for everybody, why not find out what she can do? Obviously, she's educated, so can't she get a job and contribute to the family income, so that the family can not only afford a new geyser, but also pay off all the debts incurred as a result of her wedding, like the AC?

I mean, if she didn't help @ home domestically (which she obviously didn't), she must have been working somewhere, no? If yes, she can continue that, and help pull her weight, and also cover Sushma's studies a bit more. Or did all she do was party out w/ her friends @ her dad's expense?

Yeah, I know that Dadi would like the bahu to stay home and tend to the household, but not all bahus do that: in this serial itself, Jyoti didn't until much late, but Sudha satisfied them in this department from day 1. Since Poonam is not a Sudha, why not let her go out and earn money for the family, while Sushma does the cooking at home on her behalf? And let Poonam, in her spare time, learn all those things so that she meets the expectations they have of her.

that would definitely be ideal but i find it really hard to imagine a girl like poonam, who wouldn't even give up a lame piece of clothing, earning money and allowing even a small percentage of it to go to help with her inlaw's expenses.

i don't actually agree with this anyway. it's padma's fault for marrying deepu off knowing they couldn't afford another mouth to feed, especially one that will need her own personal space etc. whether a girl works or not, men shouldn't really marry until they are financially stable themselves. and if like deepu, there is no stability in sight then again, marry someone who shares a similar background to your own since it'll be more likely that you'll appreciate the less material things in life - padma's fault. but i can so see padma beginning to turn on her laadli bahu if she keeps getting under sushi's feet but padma will just blame jyoti for finding such a rubbish bahu.

Jyoti is partly to blame for this. Remember, Deepu didn't want to marry until Jyoti & Sushma's issues were resolved - implying maybe he wanted to wait until Jyoti was reconciled w/ Pankaj, and Sushma found a new husband. Right now, there are 3 mouths to feed, 2 to come, and add to that, one wife. Why did Jyoti have to back Padma and others in forcing Deepu to marry, when he said he wasn't ready, and embarrass him whenever he cited Jyoti and Sushma as a reason?

I can see Poonam refuse, but the way to persuade her (other than bullying) would be to point out that all the items she'd help pay for were either wedding related, or stuff that she wanted added, such as the geyser. After all, that's why Jyoti had taken out so much advance. If Poonam earns and helps repay it, as well as pay for the honeymoon her dear saas wants her to have, then she doesn't have to bother about Deepu supporting either Jyoti or Sushma. Jyoti can in that case support herself, and Sushma.

I also think Padma will always take the side of Poonam over Sushma, since she always preferred Deepu to all, and would prefer his wife to any of the sisters, not just Jyoti or Sudha. And she's found the right bahu. Yeah, she'll blame Jyoti for finding her, but it was she who refused girls who were in better situations than Jyoti & Sushma eg one was married for a night before leaving her drunk groom, another was kicked out, etc. Had she been open to those types, they'd have had a bahu of their choice, aside from the izzat factor.

padma is such a 🤬. i hate her so much!!!

at least brij is there 2 torture bhairavi now. but why nobody tortures this padma. creatives plz think abt it. i though poonam wud torture padma but... she only tortures sushi. she is padma's laadli bahu. plz bring in sum1 who cud torture padma😡

btw i have a question what if the sharmas had 2 marry off their 3 daughters? i mean sushma, jyoti n sudha married on their own varna sharmas dehej mein kya dete aur kaise dete? 😕
anywayz padma needs a psychiatrist. well i think this time also mayb jyoti n kabir might have 2 marry on their own. don't worry kalpana is there 2 support her best frn any time😳

Eloping would be good... may be Jyo could house share wth Kabir to get out of her family problems, especially Padma's and Poonam's kit-pit...

A person falsely accused of a crime has to ever live with the tag even though he/she may be innocent... so she may as well live a happy life by eloping with Kabir not caring about what the stupid society thinks.. they tag her as charithraheen even though she is innocent...cant stop them , can we? after all, the ppl who look down on other ppl are the ones that dont have anything better to do in life like the unemployed, drunkards and looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosers... 😆 😆

Should one worry about what these mahaan elements in the society think about them? NEVERRRRRRRRRRRR...

Well, if Kabir wanted to marry Jyoti & someone else Sushma, then the Sharma's would still be involved, no? Unless Kabir just wanted a simple registered marriage, or one in a temple like Uday & Sudha.

Given how popular Jyoti is across the family, I can't see her wedding be low key - people like the Trivedis, Bhagya-da, Basu, Kalpana would all want to be involved. So such a wedding would be a success. Of course, if they elope due to Padma's misbehaving, it's another story altogether. But this had better happen soon, while Jyoti's pregnancy is still early, or after she gives birth.

Sushma is another story. I think for her own good, she should put romance on the backburner, and after adapting out her baby, study for 3 years, get a Bachelors and then a job as an office assistant. Once she has that, she can start looking for grooms. Her classmates would be a good place to start - don't go for older guys just to show how fashionable you are - you saw how that worked last time.
