Super, Fantastic, Outstanding, Mind Blowing, History!

What singing!
👏

This was all-around a great great performance. A very difficult song to sing, that required you to keep up with the pace. Tough lyrics as well, and tough singing portions during the song from start to finish. And Sunidhi sang this song past all high expectations one can have for a singer in a song.

There are some songs, you just like because of the singer. I mean, this is a good composition, but would nowhere near be the hit it was without Sunidhi. She made this song a hit through her singing. This is a very big compliment for a singer, that without them this song would not even be heard of. There was so much variation in her voice, she hit a lot of different notes throughout the song. and was just full on all explosive from beginning to end. She also did the little things well to make the song extra amazing.

She also fully displayed her singing ability and showed what she can do with her voice. She is the most talented female singer in bollywood today. And this song goes on to prove it.

I'd say this singing performance was probably at least Top 3 for me in the past 10 years.

Good choice to risingabove and to whoever chose this song!

Another round of applause

And this song should receive nothing lower than a 10 either. I mean come on people, what more do you want a singer to do? She practically was the song. From beginning to end she sang so well. What singing ability yaar. The way she sang this was absolutely phenomenal.

I am sorry but i can only give a 9 here. I don't enjoy this song that much. She has sung it well I think, but for me something was missing. I would again reiterate that as I don't have profound knowledge of music, my scores come straight from the heart. I always liked Sunidhi's songs from Chameli more.

Score: 8 out of 10.

The improvisations were not all perfect. Some of them were too staccato for my liking. And some were not very well-defined.

High notes - another problem area.

I don't think it is an extremely difficult song - the pace was comfortable.

The lyrics were not difficult either. (Javed saab was asked to write nonsense lyrics which he did well!) From a singer's point of view, the most difficult 'words' or syllables on which to improvise are those that have consonant sounds like 'n', 'l' and 'r' especially. It is a great feat to be able to control your voice when mouthing these consonant sounds. But in this song, Sunidhi improvises on vowel sounds like 'aa' and 'ae', which is not very difficult.

But the song has been sung with much josh and gusto. It is not easy to maintain such throw for such a long period. So this brings the song up to comfortably above average level, i.e. a 7.5 which I will round up to 8/10.

Fans of this song might also like 'Ab Ke Sawan' by Shubha Mudgal, which is very similar in style. Had Sunidhi's high notes been this good, her improvisations this sharp, I would have given her 10. Also note how Shubha vibrates her voice on 'saawannnn'. This vibration/improvisation on a consonant sound (esp. 'n' sound) is very difficult.

sometimes it feels more of shouting than singing to me. the groove of the music keeps you going. but the singing is not up to the mark and not pleasant sometimes, so i would like to give it 8 out of 10

The pace was comfortable? You tell me how many songs Alka and Shreya sing at this pace annually. To be honest, right now I can't recall 1 song they have sung at a pace this fast. If it's so comfortable they should have done it often.

Also, the lyrics and pace is all good, but the way she sang it from the start to end, the variations in her voice, the range, and all the harkats were just mindblowing. But seriously, she carried this song. There are few songs I can say the singer was the song, this is one of them.

But hey, even Sunidhi Chauhan says thisis one of her best of her career in an interview. So I would agree.

Chaliye ab ssk saab meri judgment ko dissect karenge. Fine. Let me make it easier for you by setting out my argument point by point - then you can challenge me on every point.

1. Improvisations/variations/harkats

The improvisations were not all perfect. Some of them were too staccato for my liking. And some were not very well-defined.

2. High notes

High notes - another problem area.

3. Pace

I don't think it is an extremely difficult song - the pace was comfortable.

4. Simple lyrics - majority of harkats on vowel sounds, which is relatively easy

5. Josh

But the song has been sung with much josh and gusto. It is not easy to maintain such throw for such a long period. So this brings the song up to comfortably above average level, i.e. a 7.5 which I will round up to 8/10.

6. A better performance in a similar style of song

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you will notice, these are my comments as before, except they have bulleted and subtitled for easy reading.

Now tell me exactly what I said wrong in each point. I think you disagree with points 1 and 3, but it would be good if you could restate all your challenges to my judgment.
