I am pretty sure he's not a cameo. He must be the parallel lead who will get married to Sumi. Once he gets married to Sumi, he'll be a permanent character in the show because Sumi's not going anywhere.

I thot Ali Merchant would have an impt role in the serial but if Preeti is gonna marry Suryakamal , then, what would be Ali's role, will he marry Sumi?
And folks , did anyone notice that Ali Merchant always comes as apart of the first alliance (I mean could-be-groom) but never gets married to the lead girl .....it has happened to him earlier in a show on Star Plus and here too, the same thing is gonna happen to him....poor Ali :(
