I just realised that many of the contestants were from Mumbai.
Isn't this supposed to be Dance INDIA Dance so dancers should be selected from all over India and other countries which has a large Indian diaspora.
This is purely my opinion. So please comment nicely😃

I disagree, if a lot of the dancers happen to come from Mumbai it's because they're good and not because they are from Mumbai.
I don't see the harm in having so many Mumbaikars anyway, are they not as Indian as someone from say Delhi?
Everyone went through the same process and it just happens to be there are quite a few Mumbaikars.

Btw don't you remember Sid, Vrushali, Jai and Mayuresh. They were all from Mumbai yet none of them won.
Let's stop thinking about who comes from where and may the best contestant win! :)

I think it is merely incidental. Nothing that reflects unfairness. It makes sense because Mumbai has a high concentration of population. Also with the film industry being located there, Mumbai has a higher concentration of dance troupes, dance studios, dance trainers. Also many dancers from across the country migrate to Mumbai for commercial dance careers. So these factors make the probability of dancers being from Mumbai higher.

Ultimately, may the best win. Most people are smart enough to see dance and talent and ignore the trivial matters like which city one is from.

Weren't the auditions held all over India, then it just happens that most of the talent is from Mumbai, so is that their falut...and as H4L pointed out, last year too lost of the contestants were from Mumbai...we are looking here for the best talent in India not from a particular region...

Even though many of them are from Mumbai, their origin may not be Mumbai or even the Maharashtra state, since Mumbai has immigrants from all over India... Last season, Jai was originally a mallu, Siddhesh a Goan, and this season Kruti is originally from the South, and so on... And one more thing - they always show the place where the contestant did the first audition as their city, instead of showing their home town or state they are from. Last season they showed Paulson as from Bangalore when he was from Kerala, and this would be the case for many others too...
