I think the main reason they had Shanti and Devinder on the show was to get inside information. These two girls are way too calm compared to other girls. When Mani translated what Devinder had said, there was big difference in the tone of the two girls. Devinder had convincing and no-finger pointing attitude whereas when Mani translated that, she had accusing tone. May be that's why Rahul left the room for a while.
