Telly actress Moonmoon, seen as Sampada in Star Plus daily Kasautii Zindagii Kay, is in agony. After a severe knee injury, she has been advised by her doctor not to stand for long periods of time. Wearing high heels too is a definite no-no. Height woes
"There is a throbbing pain in my right knee all the time, and sometimes, it is unbearable. And the worst part is that I can't do without heels, as my co-stars all tower above me," says Moonmoon, who is also shooting for Balaji's new show, Krimson Skies, slated to air on Star One.
"I have now decided to take it extremely easy and rest my knee. I had to consult an orthopaedic surgeon; it is a cartilage problem, and I have been told not to wear heels at all." Flab is back
The cause of the damaged knee was the actress's desire to lose weight. Excessive gymming and strenuous exercise has rendered her immobile. "Now, I have been told not to exert my right knee at all, which means no working out. As a result, I have regained all the weight I had lost. So besides the knee injury, there is the added stress that I am gaining a lot of weight." Treadmill trudge
When Moonmoon first started experiencing pain in the knee, she says she ignored it. "I thought it was due to all that exercising. Though I was into workouts, in the last few months, I went on this major exercising trip. I was on the treadmill every day for an hour. I used to go to a gym, but did not have a trainer guiding me. So, I think all the excessive treadmill workouts have harmed my knee."
Stuck at home and unable to shoot, Moonmoon is now chilling with her family and two dogs, Boozie and Chimpoo. Recently seen in a cameo in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, she plays the character of Iccha in Krimson Skies. "It is an urban, youth-centric show, with lots of English dialogues," she says. shaheen@mid-day.com |
