Striker on YouTube Why?

can someone plz tell me why producers released striker on Youtube along with theater release? how it can benefit them? why ppl will go to watch it in theater when its on Youtube ? i m unable to understand it....

the did not release it on YT in india & also u have to pay some money if u r in usa it's mainly because sid has so many fans in poland & germany & they cannot watch his films there . also, sid said somethign liek they didn't distributed the film extensively that;'s why they did it & ofcourse it's a start after that if they r going to release films on YT they r going to start doing the pay per view thing

ohhh if its payable per view then its fine......hopefully their this experiment gets successful

I live in Canada and I didn't have to pay to watch it. Didn't watch the whole thing, just the first 5mins. But yeah, it was free.

u don't have to pay in canada & how is it iracy when the producers r providing it themselves its just the first experiment to entertain more audiences. & to stop the piracy they said every person who'll report a pirated link will get a reward . i don't know if u know or no 3 idiots is also gonna be on YT officially after 12 weeks of it's release which means only 3 more weeks

no its not piracy when producer himself is providing it but i m saying then how they will cover its money??? ...3 idiots has already earned its money ...but striker is on YT the day it released 😕

i just read an article and it's tie up between google india & studio18 they sold their film to Google india so they recovered their money

Internet has been a big part of our lives and the same is the case with Bollywood world too. It seems all of a sudden the Bollywood is depending too much on internet these days.

Just a call to mind to all…3 Idiots was the first movie to release on screens as well as on YouTube both on 25th December 2009. Then we heard that My Name Is Khan was on the row with their music released on iTunes before they had an official music release. Now Striker, another yet to release Bollywood film has joined 3 Idiots and MNIK to go the internet way!

Striker is all set to hit the theatres on 5th February 2010 along with a simultaneous release on YouTube on the same day! There has been a deal between Google India and producers Indian Film Co and Studio 18 for an online streaming of the film on 5th February 2010.

However, Striker will not be available for the Indian viewers on YouTube due to the clash of its theatrical release. US viewers will have to pay a minimum charge to watch it. And for the rest of the world, it is free.

It is really applausive that Bollywood is getting more techie with time. Hope to have some more such steps from all the movies in the future!
