Hi, my name is david, and i'm new to this site. I'm not Indian myself (i live in the united states), but i'm planning on buying a valentine's day gram for this girl i like. The gram is a heart-shaped cookie, and you can have a personalized message written on it (presumably with frosting). Her first language was Marathi, so i was hoping to put "friend" in Marathi for the message. However, when I looked up the translation of friend in english to Marathi, i was unable to find a translation that i could be sure would not be incorrect, or even offensive. I would like to use the proper symbols, not the english letters, if possible. Could someone please help me out with this?? She is shy, so i would not like to put anything forward or sexual at all (hence my choice of the word friend). Thanks in advance for all who help me out in this!

Thanks for the reply! I looked up "mitra" and came up with this:
Is this the right form (like gender, et cetera) of the word, or is it the right word at all?? Thanks again for all the help
