Katrina Kaif has expressed interest in paying for the upkeep of a rescued leopard at Bhopal's Van Vihar

On January 22, a 15-day leopard cub was spotted in Devankhedi village near Bhopal and rescued by a team from the national park Van Vihar. Apparently, the villagers named the cub Katrina because they felt that she was "beautiful and silky like Katrina Kaif."
On Thursday, Katrina learnt about this and she made enquiries with Van Vihar, saying that she wanted to adopt the leopard. When contacted, Van Vihar's assistant director AK Khare said Katrina Kaif had indeed expressed a desire to adopt the rescued animal.

"On Friday afternoon, Katrina's assistant called me saying that she was willing to adopt that leopard. It would be great if she does. However, let me clarify that the leopard cub, which Katrina Kaif is ready to adopt, is spelt as Catreena, not Katrina. At this point of time, the animal is housed in our zoo."

Explaining what Katrina Kaif would require to do for the process of adoption, Khare said, "We have different rates for different animals. Katrina will have to pay Rs 50,000 annually. I have yet to hear from them, but I have informed them of the entire procedure. Besides paying Rs 50,000 per year for the leopard, Katrina will also have to fill up a form and duly sign it."

Way to go Katrina! I adopted a tiger and anyone can "adopt" an endangered animal. It's a great way to help keep them around.😃

How does it "show" this? I raise my child, pay his school fees and would die for him. He is a human being. I would raise my parents from the dead if I could, but alas I have not the power to do so. I would give the earth to spend just one more day with my grandfather. All of these people ARE people or human beings. I adopted a Tiger from World Wildlife Fund, and this takes away from my appreciation of my fellow human beings? So when you buy shoes instead of giving the money to the poor does that mean you love shoes with soles more than people with souls? I think that may have been a bit too much of an assumption to make. Showing love and concern for the state of the earth god gave to us is showing love and concern for those who must inhabit it by god's will. It's not a popularity contest. Don't be so quick to wish to condemn any one group to death at the expense of another. It may start with animals but it always ends with people. "THEY should not count. They are not 'like us'" sort of thinking begins here and it is best never to begin it. That way lies evil.

I am talking about a sick child adopted through human welfare society and not talking about my child !! I have not got him with me !! This child is in africa like there is a chariety to adopt a granny too !! I am talking about those kids !! If anyone like to adopt animals then by all means !! They need some one to look after them too !! I did not expect to see this long essay on just adoption of a leapord !! Everyone looks after their own family and loved ones but to look after other human being is what one calls humanity !! I have bever mentioned this before !! It came to my mind so I wrote !! Thanks anyhow and you would be glad to get 3 usual votes of people who are always standing on the standby to push me down !! I will give you my vote too !! Takecrare honey !!
