@sjain: I agree with you, in fact this thing I had also said before once ki Manav ke liye luv is much much more important than marriage... if there is no luv, marriage is useless is what he feels.
In the early episodes he loved her so much yet never thought of marriage cos he thought he was't worth her. She was getting married to Satish and he was happy that she was getting such a gud guy as a husband.
For him marriage is small as compared to luv, that is why he was ready to throw his own pavitra rishta in the dustbin and end his marriage when he felt that Archana's happiness was with Satish. He quietly signed divorce papers and ended his marriage for the sake of his love. It is for this reason only that his marriage with Shravani never made a difference to me, cos I understood that if his OWN marriage with Archu meant nothing to him in comparison to his love for her... then Shravani's loveless marriage to him is nothing more than a contract.
But at the same time, every one doesn't have these same views. Archana certainly doesn't. She never accepted her love for Manav, but kept saying that the agni, the saat pheras, sindoor etc. stillmean a lot to her and so she wouldn't divorce him. For her, marriage is at par with love. And also I think, it is the same for most of the Indian audience.
And so, if it is shown that he puts Sindoor on shravani's maang, it might not mean anything to him , cos it is a contract for him since there is no love in this marriage.. and marriage rituals are nothing but a formality to get social accepetance of the love... wat will ek chutki sindoor change about this compromise... do it today do it tomorrow may be his viewpoint, but Archu and a majority of our conservative audience wont understand or accept it. Archu wud be devastated, and a majority of the audience will be offended.. they will say, 'Pehli shadi tooti nahi abhi aur kisi doosri ladki ki maang bhar di..' At that time no one will think that it is not these rituals or signing on divorce papers that make or break marriages.. marriages are made by love and respect and nothing else... at that time no one will think that putting ek chutki sindoor is no marriage and signing on divorce papers is not a true divorce cos Manav is married to Archana from his heart... he loves her and no one else,
And the sad part is, I wont be able to defend Manav on this matter.. cos everyone has different ideas about the importance and rating of rituals, marriage and love. (these are 3 different things)
