Happy Republic Day.
It is a day to ponder the meaning and importance of being a Republic and asking ourselves, are we successful as one.
To a certain extent we are ... but as a whole no one is.
Yes, India perhaps lags behind certain democracies ... but we did maintain our democracy, and always try to critisize or repair its flaws. We do have many flaws.... but the positive side is that we try!...
Democracy may not be perfect way ... but at the moment the world is on its way towards a better system itself. Unless people become more aware and a new system is considered adequate ... we must walk along with democracy.
India is trying hard to create jobs ... we have a say in the parliament. Atleast ... the different states do have a voice!
The system is atleast not completely autocratic. Even though we need much more transparency ... but we still have enough to know that there are flaws!
The Leaders are not absolute. The system is not perfect, and this is recognised....and this is not kept so wrapped up that it cannot be changed for good....
The Army and the Defence system is kept in check. They are respectful to their position, the country and its people. They are respectful to independence....they are respectful to the REPUBLIC...
Thats why I am happy to be known as an Indian ... although as I once mention, pride is something I love to avoid (although thats another discussion).
I love to be who I am ... and I know that I am not static...I am moving...and so is my country and its people.
Jai Hind.
