During the third edition of auction of players for IPL, none of the 11 listed Pakistani players were picked up by franchises. Most of the players listed were from Pakistan team that won world T 20 championship Hence it cant be concluded that they were not good enough to play in IPL. Do you think the non selection of Pakistani player is due to political pressure or secuirity issue?

IPL is a business and currently Pakistan and anything affiliated with Pakistan is a PR nightmare to deal with in the backdrop of 26/11 and other things.

What the franchise owners seem to have stated is Pakistani players are very good, but not exceptional enough to put the entire franchise at risk

Its all game-plan u c.

ICL had Lahore Badshahs and IPL will have Karachi Shehenshahs. For all you know, Modi already has a bakra to buy the franchise of the paki team.

A high and reliable source from BCCI and core IPL management team has revealed on a condition of anonymity, that Modi and India Govt. has yielded to the pressures from PCB and Zardari Govt.
Now they have agreed to get the Paki players as 'Cheerleaders'😆

i think its one way of protesting against the barbaric act of 26/11 and also Pakistan's lack of co operation to take any concrete action against the perpetrators

If that was the case , its not players fault. There are other way to protest against 26/11 attack . Its better not to mix sports with politics. That easy to say but everyone mix sports with polictics.

maybe. But I'm sure it's also got to do with the attack on Sri Lankan cricketers in Pakistan. BCCI don't want any trouble and therefore, don't want to take any risks, especially as India is a joint host for the Cricket World Cup 2011. I think BCCI believes that trouble follows Pakistani players.
